According to a major report by Gallup, ‘Ebullient leadership’ can lift your workers out of the doldrums and increase productivity…. An ebullient leader is someone who “through words and deeds helps create a work environment that is considered by a subordinate as a fun place to work.” Being an ebullient leader is not about being authentic, transformational or charismatic. It’s about actively creating a positive work environment that is engaging, fun and playful. Their leadership style can transform a routine workday into a stimulating experience; creating an atmosphere where employees feel excited to come to work. The study stresses that this doesn’t mean it’s time to get the table football back into the office or be the first on the dancefloor at the Christmas celebrations. Rather adopting behaviours like: Building enjoyable moments into the workday: - Demonstrating emotional intelligence - Balancing work and play - Being mindful of employees’ preferences - Leading by example by demonstrating and championing playfulness, curiosity and liveliness. https://lnkd.in/egadnyCh

Are you a blamer? This time of the year, it seems there's more external factors that we can choose to 'blame' for our behaviours, our mood and even the decisions we make. In this short video, inspirational thinker Brené Brown humorously considers why we blame others, how it sabotages our personal and professional relationships, and why we desperately need to move beyond this destructive behaviour. https://lnkd.in/eywrN79

In his book "Diary of a CEO", Steven Barlett refers to Billie Jean King's quote "pressure is a privilege". On a Sunday evening, with the preparation of the week ahead and with the end of the year looming, how many of us really think of the stresses of work and life as a privilege? Barlett explains that “usually if you have tremendous pressure, it’s because an opportunity has come along.” In daily life we cannot escape pressure. It is not something we can control. However, what we can change is how it affects you by recognising it, sharing your stress with others, reframing it as a positive force, and using it to fuel your success. So have King and Barlett stumbled on the key to overcoming stress? Or is this just a privilege of mindset that many cannot appreciate?

The Top 4 Workforce Priorities for Leaders in 2025 Forbes has released its Top 4 Workforce Priorities for Leaders in 2025 As organisations evolve and face new challenges in the dawn of 2025, Leaders and Managers are preparing to tackle pressing workforce priorities that will shape the future of work. Based on extensive Gartner surveys, Forbes Magazine has created this top four trusted list of priorities leaders must incorporate into their strategic imperatives for 2025. 1) Leader and Manager Development - The traditional approaches to leadership development, often centred on one-off seminars and static content, are proving ineffective in preparing Leaders for the dynamic nature of modern business. Instead Leaders will need to develop through peer-connection-based learning experiences that foster lasting professional relationships and practical, real-world applications of their knowledge. Leadership teams will need to prioritise long-term development strategies that emphasise collaboration, on-the-job learning, and regular touch points rather than isolated events. 2) Organisational Culture – Organisations will need to focus on embedding culture into their core values and integrating individual and organisational ‘Purpose’ into day-to-day operations and future planning. 3) Strategic Workforce Planning - Workforce planning will be essential to help manage the volatility and prepare for adequately for talent needs. 4. Change Management - 3% of leaders report that employees are experiencing change fatigue. To overcome this, organisations must focus on building change resilience within their teams. Rather than simply managing change from the top, successful organisations will empower employees to be active participants in the change process. On reading these insights, how prepared do you think your organisation is for the year ahead? We'd love to hear your thoughts....

Wellbeing Wednesday - An article today in @channeleyemedia is heralding the importance of embedding sustainable workplace wellbeing practices into the culture of your organisation. Stating that “Organisations must shift their perception of wellbeing from perks and rewards to an integral part of their culture and operations.” Suggesting that “we’ve had the summer to reflect on workplace practices, now is the time to turn those reflections into meaningful actions.” And we couldn’t agree more… Recent insights, such as Deloitte’s 2024 WellBeing at Work Survey, highlight the need for meaningful action and quickly. An alarmingly, 59% of employees, 66% of managers, and 71% of senior executives are considering leaving their roles if their wellbeing needs are not met. What would be the impact of this loss in your organisation…or your team? The solution is to adopt a comprehensive approach to wellbeing that aligns individual needs with organisational objectives. Where wellbeing is hardwired into how the organisation operates and succeeds. If you would like to find out more how this can be done please do watch this video of Tim Munden and Rob Stephenson⁷ explaining their approach. https://lnkd.in/eCx54nf2 #wellbeing #corporatewellbeing #humanresources #hrprofessionals #wellbeingatwork #hr #wellbeingwednesday

We are thrilled to announce that Tim Munden has merged his business with inchigo and has joined as a Partner. Tim is a highly accomplished business leader with a wealth of experience in organisational change, leadership, culture change, and employee wellbeing. He has been recognised for his exceptional work as the Chief Learning Officer and Head of Employee Wellbeing at Unilever and is sought after by CEOs and senior teams to support organisation-wide change initiatives. Together, we have a shared passion for nurturing possibilities for people, organisations and society. This partnership marks a significant milestone as inchigo continues to evolve how it supports leaders in the 21st Century. We are excited at the positive impact Tim’s vast expertise will bring to our work. Thanks to Tim’s extensive experience, we have gained great insights into the role of wellbeing in organisations. Tim has seen time and time again that for high performance, high agility and high innovation in an organisation, high levels of wellbeing are also needed. So, as we build organisations fit for today and tomorrow, we need to put wellbeing at their core. This means embedding wellbeing into how the organisation is run, rather than as a stand alone project. For this reason, we have created a public event "High Impact Wellbeing" which will be held in central London on 19-20 November ’24. This 2 day workshop is for those responsible for wellbeing, to enable them to lead wellbeing strategically, equipping them to maximise the impact of a wellbeing strategy on their organisation. Alongside Tim are wellbeing expert and entrepreneur Rob Stephenson⁷ a team of leading speakers who will give participants a practical understanding of hardwiring wellbeing into their organisation; how line managers manage, how leaders lead, how we nurture and support teams and how we generate high performance. To find out more please do watch this video https://lnkd.in/eCx54nf2 or direct message for us to send you more information.

https://lnkd.in/e82BpP-2 Fantastic news for us at www.inchigo.com
Working in leadership and organizational development as a consultant, facilitator and coach is everything that I had hoped it would be when I started two and a half years ago. It is a huge privilege to work with leaders on their own leadership and on how to enable their organisations to thrive and perform to their fullest potential. There is always a lot to learn – about the client or the sector and the specific situation – and a constant stretch to find better and better ways to help people and organisations grow. The range of work is constantly exciting – accelerating performance through purpose, preparing future C-suite leaders, designing leadership and culture models, creating and delivering leadership programs and immersions, coaching with individuals and teams. And I love the organisations I have been associated with – being a senior associate at Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), or a Luminary with Accenture for example – and the inspiring clients. I look ahead in my calendar and have to pinch myself that I actually get to do this… The one thing I have missed is being part of a bigger gang, creating something together, which was a key element of why I loved being at Unilever. There have been lots of collaborations – the openness of people to work together has been one of the joys of the last few years, and we have an exciting new collaboration in wellbeing launching below, and more in the pipeline. But being part of a bigger gang brings the scale to take on bigger challenges, to leave a deeper impact. And so I am delighted to be merging with the wonderful team at inchigo. We have a shared passion for nurturing possibilities for people, organisations and society, and the inchigo team have a gift for creative and profound inner game work; it is a testament to their talents that the first client at inchigo almost 20 years ago is still a client. Olivier Lachèze-Beer, Russell Saunders, Michelle Allen nee Loughney and the rest of the team – I am thrilled about joining forces! And back to collaborations, I am hugely excited to be launching the “High Impact Wellbeing” program this week with the magnificent Rob Stephenson⁷ 🐙. This two day workshop is designed for wellbeing leaders, to create a high impact wellbeing strategy. Wellbeing has to be hardwired into how the organisation operates, and not a set of standalone initiatives which research shows does not work. Wellbeing needs to be built into how line managers manage, how leaders lead, how we nurture and support teams who are the nucleus of the 21st century organisation, how we frame and drive for high performance. Check out our explainer video and find more information at https://lnkd.in/eSnUpC_d or our LinkedIn page: https://lnkd.in/euag9X65 The program takes place in London on November 19 and 20. We have wonderful speakers who have world class expertise - Dr Judith Grant, Clarke Carlisle, Elisha London, Sheila Piper and others. Hope to see some of you there!

According to PM PeopleManagement businesses must act now to address the managerial wellbeing crisis The UK has been in the throes of a mental health crisis for some time, with 77 per cent of large employers reporting an increase in employee mental health needs. As a result, and in the absence of accessible professional support, managers are stepping up to support their struggling team members. Taking on such an additional mental load without the appropriate support, comes at a cost – particularly at a time when stress levels for many are heightened by geopolitical, financial and environmental concerns. It is unsurprising, therefore, that UK managers’ own wellbeing is suffering — with 59 per cent saying additional responsibility at work is the cause. If you would like some support with how to create, implement and maintain a wellbeing strategy for your organisation please do contact us on michelle@inchigo.com and we will be happy to offer you a free introductory meeting.

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. But in our busy lives, being mindful often seems easier said than done.
