I had the privilege to present the work we completed at LGI Sustainable Innovation for PIISA Project during its General Assembly, held at AXA Climate offices in Paris on November 14. Over the past five months, my team and I at LGI have been working on an in-depth market study, analyzing the insurance landscape in key sectors like agriculture, forestry, and urban green infrastructure across Europe. By identifying gaps and opportunities, we explored how innovative solutions such as nature-based and parametric insurance models can drive climate resilience and adaptation. Looking ahead, the focus shifts to ensuring the sustainability and replicability of these solutions beyond the project’s lifecycle. We’ll be building a roadmap to expand these innovations across Europe, refining strategies, and engaging stakeholders to maximize impact. The goal is to transform these insights into actionable solutions that support long-term climate adaptation. These efforts represent a concrete step toward aligning insurance innovation with Europe’s climate goals, providing both the public and private sectors with tools to mitigate risks and build resilience.
