‘𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 next 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆’ 𝗔𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗲𝗹, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠 In the forthcoming issue of 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹, catalina mihu chats with the President of MECATHERM, Raymond Nogael, having been invited to visit the Demo Center in Barembach. She discovers the changes, the new projects and the work in progress. In June, 2024, Raymond Nogael became the new President of MECATHERM, succeeding Olivier Sergent. He is responsible for pursuing MECATHERM’s development strategy, with a focus on innovation and sustainable development. “Thanks to the successful expansion in North America, we are now in a position where we can invest in the future, in sustainability and digitization. We can now ‘push the next button’ on sustainability, and this is what we are doing right now, with the goal of being fully customer-oriented.” Nogael discusses MECATHERM’s approach to sustainability and innovation and his personal passion for it. He has worked closely with Amandine Cardonnet, MECATHERM’s Sustainability & Communication Project Manager, who spent last year traveling to all of MECATHERM’s sites, to explain what sustainability means to the company, from supporting its people and embracing the power in their diversity, to environment mindfulness and innovative solutions that help bakeries. He shares his thoughts on new company’s philosophy going forward: “Our goal is to be the reference on the market. I don't want to be a leader; everybody can lead in some area. We are a leading company, surely, but being the reference is more meaningful, because that is based on trust, on building relationships and a name. Leading in volume sales alone does not necessarily imply this,” he tells us. Last year, MECATHERM celebrated its 60th anniversary, with a video prepared which was shared for the celebrations, held with the French and American teams of MECATHERM NORTH AMERICA, ABI LTD and MaMaTa, our digitalization expert. 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠 Recently, catalina mihu, Editor-in-Chief of 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 was invited to visit MECATHERM’s Demo Center in Barembach. There, she joined company’s specialists for a full-on day of work at the French company’s headquarters. She learned about many new projects there from conversations with members of MECATHERM’s team. Simon Heyberger, Demo Center Manager, was her guide for a detailed tour of the facility, which has now evolved from a space where standalone machines could run live demonstrations to a fully-fledged baking center, equipped with a full-scale industrial line with different modules, for a wide range of testing opportunities. The new concept, incorporating several sustainability features, is adapted to the needs of the bakers and the company’s teams. A sustainability seminar was recently held at the Center, and François Retailleau, Product Manager Lines & Digital shared the event’s highlights and MECATHERM’s newest solutions for sustainability improvements in the baking plant. Sustainability is the underlying theme at the Center, as Amandine Cardonnet, Sustainability & Communication Project Manager and Sophie Kersaudy, Marketing Communication Manager, outlined. And innovation is being developed to support sustainable baking: new solutions in the digital space open the door to an array of with new opportunities in efficiency and fully-informed, smart baking applications. Paul-Antoine SERRAULT, Digital Transformation Manager, revealed the latest advancements in MECATHERM’s work to expand digital services, including the MyMecatherm portal. All the recent developments follow the company’s renewed strategy for development; Raymond Nogael, the new President of MECATHERM, shared his thoughts on the fast-paced chances, the views and goals of the company, in his first year at its helm.
