"How would you feel if you started to see the reality/things without the meanings that people give them?" To answer this question a few years ago, I deep-dived into the book ‘NAUSEA’ of Jean-Paul Sartre, who is one of the leading figures of the philosophy of Existentialism, emphasizing the fundamental freedom of the individual. And of course, I included his thoughts in my book "The Concepts of Modern Wisdom". Brief what he says: We live in an artificial reality that people have created for centuries by assigning different meanings to the actual reality. Therefore, being aware of everything that is going on around can cause NAUSEA. Wondering why he said this? Then I invite you to listen to this 10 minute podcast episode of AI-Sopher, where 2 GenAI hosts (I called them as Jean-Paul and Simone) authentically talk about this modern wisdom concept based on the notes in my book about the ideas of Sartre. To listen to on my website: https://lnkd.in/eeC5XnpP To listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eYk6jg4a Last but not least: We need wise leaders in the business life for a sustainable future. #Wisdom #Philosophy #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Leaders #TalentDevelopment #TalentManagement #MentalModels #PersonalDevelopment

🎙️ ‘AI Sopher’ Podcast Channel - Episode 1 🎙️ In this 10-minute episode, two GenAI hosts (Jean-Paul and Simone) authentically dive into a wisdom concept in my book ‘The Concepts of Modern Wisdom’. Briefly talking about the episode: Daniel Klein began to take notes from great philosophers' works to lead a better life. He later became a Philosopher at Harvard and dedicated his life to discovering the meaning of it. When he was in his seventies, he looked back at the notes he had collected over the last half-century. Klein decided to compile these notes in his book ‘Every Time I Find the Meaning of Life, They Change It.’ Through his work, Daniel Klein endeavored to spend his whole life consciously questioning and thinking. Although it would be impossible to summarize his entire life’s work, this episode will let you reflect on ‘how to lead a more fulfilling life.’ To listen on my website: https://lnkd.in/eUE9VzXJ To listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eKg_hBqU #Wisdom #WiseLeaders #Philosophy #MentalModel #Leadership #Podcast #LeadershipDevelopment #TalentManagement

✨ One more 2024 goal achieved ✅ As a talent manager, I believe in developing leadership skills by “increasing the level of wisdom.” With this in mind, I had an objective in 2024 to create a 1-hour course on leadership skills based on the philosophical insights in my book ‘The Concepts of Modern Wisdom. And the first session was over ‘Active Listening’. Well, I was honored to join the class of Mine Afacan Fındıklı at UBI Business School in Brussels as a guest speaker, where I discussed “what active listening is, why it matters in the workplace, and how to improve it” -blending it with insights from philosophers like Spinoza, Guiguzi, Schopenhauer, Epictetos, Aristotle, Pascal, Sartre, Michel Foucault, Daniel Kahneman, and David Eagleman. Here are three insights that I shared with the students during the session: 1️⃣ Baruch Spinoza: “The important thing is not to judge, but to understand.” 2️⃣ David Eagleman: “How we perceive the world is often half of the story; the other half is how we interact with it.” 3️⃣ Guiguzi: “The value of listening is in understanding, the value of knowledge is in discerning, and the value of speaking is in creativity.” A special thanks to Mine for the invitation, bringing real-world experiences to the classroom is invaluable for students’ growth. It was a pleasure to be part of it! And thank you for the photos Dalia 😊 #LeadershipDevelopment #Leadership #ActiveListening #CommunicationSkills #Wisdom #Philosophy #TalentManagement #WiseLeaders #SoftSkill

✨ The contents in my book ‘The Concepts of Modern Wisdom’ are gradually finding their place in the business world to shape the future of leadership development. The second concept has been published in Inc. Türkiye. It is about Daniel Kahneman’s book ‘Thinking, Fast and Slow’. Briefly: In this article, based on my notes from ‘Thinking, Fast and Slow’, you’ll learn about the two systems that shape your way of thinking – the fast, intuitive, and emotional System 1, and the slower, more controlled, and logical System 2. Understanding these can help you make more quality decisions. ‘’The Concepts of Modern Wisdom’’ kitabımından beslenerek liderlik gelişimi üzerine yazdığım felsefi içerikleri, Inc. Türkiye‘de ‘Strateji’ ve ‘Liderlik’ temaları altında yayınlamaya başladım. Beyond Success: The True Essence of Leadership A few years ago, while reading Bertrand Russell's "The Conquest of Happiness," I came across a statement that resonated deeply with me. It has since shaped my approach to building a sustainable and meaningful life: “Success is only one facet of happiness; and if achieved at the expense of all the other elements, then it is very costly.” Bertrand Russell. This statement led me to reflect on a profound question that every leader should consider: "What is success, and for what higher purpose should it be pursued?" If success is attained by sacrificing the wholeness, inner peace, and deeper meaning in the lives of both individuals and teams, then it is not a victory but a profound loss. Leadership goes beyond just achieving external goals. It's about fostering purpose and creating lasting value for those we lead. True leadership aligns success with the well-being of both individuals and the team, ensuring that our achievements contribute meaningfully to everyone’s growth. A Message from Alfred Adler to Leaders: While reading Alfred Adler's "Understanding Human Nature," I was particularly struck by a paragraph that resonated with the concept of strengthening emotional intelligence. Different interpretations are possible, but this is "how I perceived it for leaders": Understanding how your team members perceive and interact with the world offers deep insights into their inner nature. By appreciating these unique perspectives, you can foster stronger connections and guide your team more effectively and inclusively. Additionally, this approach will strengthen your emotional intelligence. I believe these three steps are critical in achieving this: 1️⃣ Listening and Observation: Pay close attention to both what is said and the non-verbal cues. 2️⃣ Understanding Without Judgment: Approach your team's perspectives with empathy and an open mind. 3️⃣ Asking Thoughtful Questions: Encourage deeper dialogue by asking meaningful questions. ‘Inclusive Leadership’ message from Soren KIERKEGAARD "Once you label me, you negate me.’’ Kierkegaard's this message urges leaders to operate with an open and unbiased mind. Labeling someone disregards their essence, motivations, and potential, which can stifle creativity and innovation in the workplace. Leaders should prioritize understanding the unique qualities of their employees and give them the freedom to express their own identities. This not only enhances individual performance but also fosters a more inclusive and motivating corporate culture. About ‘Functions of Brain for Leaders’ I had a chance to read the book ‘The Brain - The Story of You by David Eagleman this summer during camping in the Alps. And I found many profound insights over neurological mechanisms of the brain to ‘make leaders wiser’. Here are the 3 of them: 1️⃣ How we perceive the world is often half the story; how we interact with it is the other half. 2️⃣ Because all neurons in the brain are directed by other neurons, there is no "zero" moment when you decide to do something; there does not seem to be another component in the system that does not react under the influence of another neuron but acts on its own. Your decision to turn right - or left - is actually a decision that goes back in time, seconds, minutes, days, to the beginning of your life. Even decisions that appear to occur "spontaneously" are not isolated. 3️⃣ We know a lot about the mechanics of neurons, networks, and brain regions, but we don't know why all the signals floating around inside us mean anything to us. How does brain matter allow us to attribute ‘’meaning’’ to things? The problem of meaning has not yet been solved, but it's safe to say that ‘’what something means to you depends entirely on the network of brain relationships built upon the history of your life experiences’’. About ‘Leadership and Quantum World’ “What is Life?” More concretely, “Why does the matter that makes up a living thing behave so differently compared to a rock? Could we be missing a vital ingredient in the essence of life?” I took many notes and inspiration to ‘’make leader wiser’’ from this book (Life on the Edge - The Coming Age of Quantum Biology), which tries to explain these 2 questions above. And I would like to share one of them below: ‘’As far as we can perceive, we are witnessing a life that functions differently at the macro level (classical world) and micro level (quantum world). At the micro level, there is only chaos, but at the macro level, we observe the principle of order emerging from chaos.’’ I also would like to share these 3 questions for leaders to reflect on: - Is creative productivity the product of a conscious mind? - Could "intuition" have an equivalent in the quantum world? - Could the so-called soul be the wave motions of invisible subatomic particles?
