🌍 World Hemp Forum 2024: a collective success! 💫 Last week, we had the immense pleasure of welcoming over 260 participants to the 1st edition of the World Hemp Forum, in #Troyes, France! This event was full of learnings, discoveries and exchanges between stakeholders from diverse professions and backgrounds and from around the world (Belgium, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, the USA and many more)! Thank you to all our participants for your enthusiasm during these two days! ☀️ ✨ Highlights of the event: - An inspiring keynote by Sébastien ABIS about the need for agricultural mobilization with a focus on global security and cooperation to face the actual pressing challenges - Engaging roundtables thanks to our moderators and speakers who shared their high level of expertise! - A Researchers’ Forum showcasing scientific advancements in the sector with impactful presentations from our speakers - Immersive site visits offering a comprehensive view of the hemp ecosystem. By choosing cooperation and alternative business models, these experts aim to harness hemp for sustainable, human-centered projects that benefit our territories. 🌿 Julien Bonnet will present the dynamic work of Virgocoop. A key figure in #bioeconomy and ecological transition, Julien is reviving the historical hemp sector in his Occitan region. As the co-founder of Coopérative Chanvre Occitan, the processing arm of the Virgocoop cooperative, he supports farmers from seed selection to hemp harvest, overseeing processing stages from fiber extraction to finished products (excluding textile manufacturing). Julien champions collective intelligence, engaging in R&D projects and fostering strong ties with textile industry players. 🌱 Estelle DELANGLE will share the story of the co-construction of the Hemp European Hub. With a background in political science and international relations, Estelle has been leading cooperative projects for nearly 20 years, specializing in funding and managing European partnerships focused on regional economic development. She is now driving the deployment of the Hub in collaboration with industrial, territorial, academic, and SME partners, all united by the vision of making hemp a driver for territorial transitions.
