✨ Waardering voor station Ede-Wageningen schiet omhoog ✨ In het afgelopen jaar is de score van station Ede-Wageningen met maar liefst 0,9 punt gestegen naar een 7,1. Dit is een geweldige erkenning van de inspanningen die zijn geleverd om het station te verbeteren en aantrekkelijker te maken voor reizigers. Terwijl de gemiddelde waardering van Nederlandse stations gelijk is gebleven op een 7,2, laat Ede-Wageningen zien dat gerichte verbeteringen een groot verschil kunnen maken. The Environment Agency has released its NCERM2 (National Coastal Erosion Risk Map) and NaFRA2 (National Flood Risk Assessment) data. We have started reviewing this information with a view to assimilating it into our service ecosystem, adding new insights into our climate intelligence risk scoring products and services. 2025 will be a powerhouse year of innovation for our UK offerings – with enhancements to our flood, coastal erosion and subsidence datasets. We’re looking forward to making good use of these fantastic new datasets along with other insights from some of our close partners including Ordnance Survey (OS). We will be setting our engineers to work to enrich and expand our UK risk collection, to provide you with more value, more insights and more opportunities. Traditional flood defenses like embankments and levees can fail due to improper construction. 🌊 But there are ways to avoid this! Royal HaskoningDHV expert Jasper Leuven explores how a nature-based approach can provide a more sustainable and adaptable alternative to traditional flood control methods. 3 key approaches include: 💧 Making room for rivers: Allow rivers to overflow during floods. This reduces water levels, flow velocity and erosion, while replenishing groundwater. 🌳 Building greener embankments: Use natural materials like earth and vegetation to create embankments. These are more durable, cheaper, and better for the environment than concrete. 🌧️ Reducing runoff to the river: Implement rainwater harvesting and reforestation projects to reduce the amount of water entering the river. By combining these nature-based approaches with traditional flood defenses, we can create more sustainable and resilient solutions to flooding. ‘Wat vroeger naar de sloop ging, kunnen we nu nog honderd jaar hoogwaardig hergebruiken.’ Liggers uit de A9 bij Amstelveen krijgen een nieuw leven. Ze worden hergebruikt in een nieuwe brug in de N201. En dat is goed nieuws, want gebruikte liggers worden normaal gesproken vergruisd tot afval. Door ze te hergebruiken wordt er bespaard op grondstoffen en wordt er tot wel 97% minder CO2 uitgestoten in vergelijking met nieuwe liggers. ‘Eigenlijk is het heel logisch, omdat de levensduur van deze liggers vele malen langer is dan hun oorspronkelijke gebruiksduur. Het is dus eigenlijk een 'no-brainer' om ze opnieuw in te zetten. Dit project laat zien dat we als overheid en markt samen echt stappen kunnen zetten richting een circulaire economie.’, legt Frans Noordberger, programmamanager duurzaamheid bij de Provincie Noord-Holland, uit.  Dit project is mogelijk gemaakt door de samenwerking tussen de twee overheden en acht marktpartijen, waaronder Royal HaskoningDHV, verenigd in het consortium Groene Liggers V.O.F.
