EURONAVAL will open its doors next Monday, the world's leading naval defence exhibition, with more than 450 exhibitors, and many conferences.   I will be glad to share SEAir's vision on naval drones, with three expert speakers : Pierre-Antoine Fliche from NAVAL GROUP, Mikael Volut from ÆGIR, and christophe balducchi from MBDA. A conference animated by Léo Péria-Peigné from Ifri - Institut français des relations internationales, on Monday 4th of November, at 3 pm. Innovating, designing, and developing while pushing the boundaries of what exists: this is embedded in SEAir’s DNA. 📈   Partnering in 2020 with local companies and the University of South Brittany (Université Bretagne Sud - Lab-STICC (UMR CNRS 6285), SEAir took a major step forward with the SURCOUF project, an initiative requiring over two years of development. The aim of this project was to create an autonomous 'mothership' equipped with hydrofoils, capable of transporting, deploying, and retrieving a highly specialized USV.   Building on the success of this project, SEAir recently participated in the #Dronathlon event organized by the French Navy (Marine Nationale), in partnership with the French Procurement agency (DGA - Direction générale de l'armement) and the DIA (Agence de l'innovation de défense). By deploying additional assets, intelligence and detection equipment, and advanced communication systems, our versatile, Foiling USV successfully completed a cooperative, multi-environment coastal reconnaissance mission.   Our thanks to the SeaTron team members (ÆGIR, Inanix, Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA, LLC. Since its inception in 2016, SEAir has made significant investments in multi-sector R&D, becoming a leader in hydrofoil technology and intelligent flight control systems. The defense industry quickly recognized the operational benefits of these systems: high speed, extended range and shock absorption. ✅   In 2019, the DIA (Agence de l'innovation de défense), funded the first trial of this technology on a RIB assault craft for the French Special Forces. A few months later, SEAir was chosen by the European Commission to lead an industrial consortium in designing a 20-meter fast intervention hydrofoil vessel. 🤝    The success of this project led stakeholders to pursue the operational qualification of a prototype. 🌊 Doubler les vagues sans voile ni moteur en volant à 30km/h sur un foil juste en utilisant l’énergie de la mer… 🤔 Qui aurait imaginé ça il y a 10 ans? 🤩 C’est quand même dingue ces foils qui permettent aussi aux monocoques de l’America’s cup de rester à l’endroit sans quille et de débouler à 50 noeuds ! 🎉 On vit vraiment dans une période de révolution dans le #nautisme où l’on voit que lorsqu’on les laisse s’exprimer, la créativité et l’inventivité de nos ingénieurs ont un potentiel incroyable. 🙏 Ce qu’ils nous proposent est porteur d’espoir pour le futur, pour le #transportmaritime, pour les challenges environnementaux et même pour l’ #innovation au sens large. 😇 Qui sait ce que l’avenir nous réserve encore ! _______________ Pour ceux qui ne me connaissent pas, j ai traversé cet été de Toulon à Calvi en Foil, sans voile et sans moteur. Pour relier ces deux territoires, j’ai parcouru 246,8km en 12h19mn juste en surfant les vagues de la Méditerranée.
