Soutien aux communautés locales – Guidon d’Or La Léchère Chez Tokai COBEX Savoie, nous commençons cette nouvelle année par la continuité de notre programme de soutien aux communautés locales ! Aujourd’hui, nous mettons en lumière l’un des 3 principaux club de cyclisme de Savoie accueillant des jeunes. Ces derniers viennent ici se former à l’art du 2 roues et développer leur passion dans le cadre qu’offrent nos belles montagnes ! 🏔️ Les adhérents participent à des événements dans l’ensemble de la région et sont invités, de manière régulière, à parcourir l’itinéraire d’une étape du Dauphiné Libéré en juin par la Région et du Tour de France en juillet. Ces déplacements ,combinés au changement des tenues et aux engagements des différentes courses, représentent un poste de dépense sur lequel Tokai COBEX Savoie a pu apporter son aide. Pour 2025, l’objectif est d’être invité au départ et à l’arrivée de l’étape d’Albertville-La Plagne qui se déroulera le 25 juillet. Ce club, comptant parmi ses membres notre collaborateur Sébastien FAY, a déjà décroché 10 victoires sur l’année 2024 et fait partie intégrante du paysage de notre site. En effet, nous pouvons les retrouver en course chaque année, en mai et en septembre, autour de l’usine de La Léchère. A suivre 🚴♂️

It was an honor to participate in yesterday's panel discussion in Brussels on supply-side innovation for critical raw materials. Many thanks to the Energy Transitions Commission, Breakthrough Energy and Systemiq Ltd. for hosting this event during #RawMaterialsWeek. As Lord Adair Turner, Chair of the Energy Transitions Commission, said in his introduction,"Graphite has been completely overlooked, and I personally discovered its importance less than 2 years ago". But as today's discussion has shown, we need to move much faster to accelerate the commercial deployment of new technologies if Europe will retain its feedstock sovereignty and if we will tackle climate change. Achieving this will require a greater commitment to European cooperation. This will include the missing link between CBAM and the Battery Passport. The Challenge Europe’s share of global CRM production has dropped from 25% to less than 7% in 40 years. The EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) sets bold 2030 targets for mining, refining, and recycling, but hitting them requires a game-changing approach. The Opportunity The report highlights 7 breakthrough technologies to sustainably onshore CRM supply, with Primary Sulfide Leaching, Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) and Novel low-carbon graphite routes standing out. Nous poursuivons nos initiatives de soutien aux communautés locales !
Un moment de fierté partagée : Ce mois-ci, j'ai eu la chance de recevoir Emma RENAUX en interview dans le cadre de la continuité de notre stratégie ESG visant à soutenir des associations locales ! Emma est la petite fille de fabrice casali, contremaître du Secteur Usinage au sein de Tokai COBEX Savoie. Elle est également l'étoile montante du CLUB DES SPORTS DE MERIBEL. Emma a hérité cette passion de son frère lui aussi adepte de ce sport. Ce qui était au départ un loisir est devenu une part importante de sa vie. Au fil des entrainements ,incluant du slalom, elle a pu participer à sa première compétition à 11 ans. "Je me sentais grande !" m'a t'elle raconté, visiblement encore animée par ce souvenir. Quand elle n'est pas sur une paire de ski, Emma est entourée de ses amis et de sa famille. Celle-ci lui a également été d'un grand soutien lors de sa déchirure du ligament interne du genou en 2022. En effet, cette blessure lui a malheureusement interdit la participation aux Championnats de France. Mais dès à présent, son ambition serait d'intégrer un jour l'équipe de France et, ultimement, de participer aux JO 2030 de Méribel. Ce qui serait pour elle un accomplissement et une grande fierté car "c'est à la maison" ! Sachant qu'elle a eu l'opportunité de rencontrer la double championne olympique Mikaela Shiffrin et qu'elle a terminé la compétition U14 deuxième année avec 2 secondes d'avance sur le temps indiqué… C'est tout ce que nous pouvons lui souhaiter ! ⛷️ Cet échange s'est terminé par un conseil aux jeunes (ou moins jeunes) voulant se lancer dans la glisse 👇 "Il faut prendre du plaisir, c'est le plus important ! Et persévérer, quoi qu'il arrive." Actuellement en Première Scientifique au Lycée de Moutiers, nous pouvons la retrouver durant toute la saison hivernale sur les pistes ! Nous rejoignons donc Salomon, Téréva ou encore FDB Architects dans leur soutien à ce club local et à l'accompagnement de cette jeune passionnée, qui fait visiblement la fierté de ses grands-parents ! 😉 #ski #competition #tokaicobex #esg #savoie

What’s new about #LiB batteries and #EV carbon emissions during their production ? 🌍 If you missed our presentation last week at the Batteries Event 2024, here are the takeaways 🎤: 🤝 With Sphera, we conducted a scientific study (link) on the carbon footprint assessment of conventional synthetic Battery Anode Material graphite (#BAM). 👉 Benchmark: Current BAM carbon footprints were strongly underestimated 👉 Based on industrial, comprehensive and process-representative data, we derived a value of 42 tCO2eq./t conventional BAM. This is up to 10 times more than previously available values ! 👉 This study is the now the new baseline you should consider 👍 . It has already been largely shared with the #EV community and has been included in the last database update of @Sphera. Additionally, ecoinvent database update is ongoing (planned in November). Lauriane BICHOT Antonio Valente ⚠️ With a conventional #BAM, you should expect ~ 120-140 kgCO2eq./kWh batteries 👉 This is a much higher value than initially expected, thus hindering the #EVs capability to drive the #lowcarbon transition 👉 There is an urgent need for low-carbon BAM ! 🌟 At Tokai COBEX Savoie, we have developed an innovative process route for producing low-carbon BAM 👉 We provide a state-of-the-art high-quality synthetic BAM with a carbon footprint < 3 tCO2eq./t (based on a complete LCA, including 3rd-party critical review). 👉 This is a great solution to decrease the batteries carbon footprint by ~ -40/-50 kgCO2eq./kWh and promote truly sustainable #electricmobility Many thanks to Sphera’s team for this great study ! Graphite battery anode #BAM has a major impact on the LiB carbon footprint… and was strongly underestimated so far ! Together with Stefan Kupferschmid from Sphera, I will be pleased to introduce our recent study on conventional #BAM carbon footprint at the 2024 Batteries Event conference. We developed an up-to-date #LCA dataset representative of standard industrial production of graphite anode, resulting to 2 to 10 times higher carbon footprint than in previous assessements !
