🌏✈️  Exploring our sustainable presence in India! 🇮🇳 A few weeks ago, we shared our commitment in Kazakhstan. Today, we complete our overview of the Asia region by highlighting our operations in India. In 2008, Vicat entered the Indian market through a joint venture with Kalburgi Cement, followed by taking over 51% stake in Bharathi Cement in 2010. Both plants serve the southern and western markets of India. Our state-of-the-art cement terminals in Kalamboli (Mumbai) and Coimbatore further support our operations. Key Activities: Cement Production: Our two cement plants, Kalburgi Cement in Karnataka and Bharathi Cement in Andhra Pradesh, produce high-quality cement marketed under the Bharathi Cement and Vicat Cement brands. Aggregate Quarry: Bharathi Rock Products operates an aggregate quarry near Bangalore, Karnataka. Sustainability Initiatives: We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by using non-fossil fuels and have achieved a substitution rate of 26%, aiming for 40%. We also installed Waste Heat Recovery System and solar power plants to enhance green energy consumption. Community Engagement: Our initiatives in water conservation, education, and social development have positively impacted over 8,000 people in 25 villages near our factories. For example, we have established Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) schools for the children of employees and neighboring communities. We are proud of our growth and impact in the dynamic region of Asia. La région AURA à l’honneur chez Vicat ! Nous avons reçu la Préfète de Région Fabienne Buccio, la Préfète de l’Isère Catherine Séguin et le sous-Préfet de la Tour du Pin Richard-Daniel Boisson. Ils étaient accompagnés des services de l’ADEME, la DREAL (Direction Régionale de l'Environnement, de l'Aménagement et du Logement), des Finances Publiques. Etaient présents les maires des communes environnantes : Bouvesse-Quirieu, Montalieu-Vercieu, Communauté de communes des Balcons du Dauphiné La première étape de la visite était notre cimenterie de Montalieu ainsi que la carrière de Creys-Mépieu où nous avons pu échanger avec les représentants de l’association Lo Parvi. Nous avons évoqué ensemble la préservation des milieux naturels et tout le travail effectué ces dernières années sur cette carrière et sur l’ensemble des sites du Groupe. Montalieu était un lieu symbolique pour évoquer notre feuille de route décarbonation et les actions du Groupe pour réduire son empreinte carbone ou développer l’économie circulaire. Le projet #VAIA et la décarbonation de la cimenterie via le processus de capture de carbone ont été au cœur des discussions au même titre que les partenariats régionaux que nous tissons au quotidien pour le développement des territoires ruraux. Vicat au cœur du projet Déclyc : un engagement pour la réindustrialisation et la décarbonation. Le Groupe Vicat a eu l'honneur de participer au lancement du projet Déclyc, une initiative cruciale pour la réindustrialisation et la décarbonation de la vallée de la chimie étendue en vallée du Rhône et jusqu'au territoire isérois où la cimenterie de Montalieu-Vercieu est implantée. Vicat, avec sa feuille de route de décarbonation, est partie-prenante dans la chaîne de valeur du CCUS (Carbon Capture Usage and Storage). Pourquoi réindustrialiser ? Olivier Lluansi a souligné trois raisons majeures : ➡️ Souveraineté ➡️ Cohésion territoriale ➡️ Réduction de notre empreinte carbone Comment réindustrialiser ? ➡️Encourager un commerce international éthique, ce qui implique aussi de savoir nous protéger quand la concurrence n'est pas loyale ➡️Activer des leviers financiers et fonciers ➡️Promouvoir une énergie décarbonée disponible et compétitive ➡️Former localement et attirer les talents Objectifs du projet Déclyc : 1️⃣Réduire les émissions de CO2 de la vallée du Rhône de 40% d'ici 2030 et de 80% d'ici 2050 dans la lignée des objectifs de la COP AURA 2025 2️⃣Créer une toile industrielle essentielle pour la décarbonation de notre territoire 3️⃣Créer des modèles réplicables sur et pour le territoire   Soutien et collaboration : Le projet initié par AXELERA est soutenu par l'ADEME et les acteurs territoriaux, prouvant que nous pouvons évoluer et faire évoluer nos outils pour un avenir plus durable. AC Presse parle de l’ "écolest" ! De quoi s'agit-il ? 🪸🪼🐠    Notre marque Lithosys a récemment développé l’ "écolest", un corps mort écoconçu destiné au mouillage de navires. Réalisé grâce à la technologie d’impression 3D permettant d’optimiser l’utilisation du béton, l’écolest est une solution technique et environnementale innovante générant un haut volume d’habitat pour la biodiversité sous-marine.     Ce prototype, immergé sur le site du Musée Subaquatique de Marseille, fait aujourd’hui l’objet d’un suivi écologique dont les résultats sont déjà impressionnants !     Cette initiative reflète l'engagement de Vicat pour des solutions à faible empreinte carbone et démontre comment l'innovation technologique peut contribuer à l’émergence de solutions pour la préservation de la biodiversité.
