Results from WAC Lab Season 3 🙌🏼 Imagined and developed during WAC Lab Season 3, we are thrilled to announce the success of "A Hacker in the Pampas", a collaboration between the digital artist Heliodoro Santos (Mexico) with the MAP Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández (Buenos Aires, Argentina), HASHTAG and fxhash! On the occasion of this landmark exhibition, Heliodoro Santos transformed part of the collection into a timely generative artwork, inviting visitors to interact with the artwork and collect one iteration. As the first step into web3 made by the museum, this installation is a wonderful way to educate and engage audiences about Di Teranto, digital art, generative art and blockchain. This project has been made possible thanks to the support of Tezos / Tezos Foundation

Happy Monday! Here is the recap from the panel "From Ownership to Stewardship: The Future of Decentralized Museums" at the Museums in Web3 conference on June 12 in Basel (Switzerland), part of the Digital Art Mile organized by ArtMeta, and sponsored by Tezos and Digital Original Moderated by Brian Droitcour from Outland, the conversation focused on the use of web3 tools for community involvement, empowerment, and the shift in traditional museum hierarchies. https://lnkd.in/dZDqiJs5 Here are the main insights shared during the session: 1️⃣ Miki Elson from ArtSect: Decentralised Arts Organisation believes that decentralization aligns with natural human tendencies, extending beyond just the realm of technology. He sees it as a fundamental shift in how humans interact with systems of power and decision-making, encompassing various aspects of life, from finance to art. 2️⃣ Marina Nething from Museum Ulm recounts the experience of the museum's first open call, where the community's vision of "paradise" diverged dramatically from the museum's initial expectations. This underscores the potential for decentralized approaches to challenge preconceived notions and bring fresh perspectives to curatorial practices. 3️⃣ Ugo Pecoraio from HEK Haus der Elektronischen Künste emphasizes the importance of translating the principles of digital experimentation and community empowerment into physical museum spaces. This highlights the need for institutions to consider how decentralized approaches can enhance visitor engagement and agency beyond the online realm. 4️⃣ Miki Elson highlights the natural evolution of Art Sect's community through personal networks and shared interests, rather than relying on traditional outreach methods. This approach emphasizes the importance of organic connections and word-of-mouth in building a decentralized community around shared values and artistic vision. 5️⃣ Marina Nething clarifies that swarm curation doesn't necessarily grant communities final say in exhibition content, but rather empowers them to influence the direction and themes explored. This nuanced understanding underscores the collaborative nature of decentralized curation, where expertise and community input converge. 6️⃣ Ugo Pecoraio highlights the effort required to introduce blockchain concepts to audiences unfamiliar with the technology. This underscores the importance of finding accessible ways to engage diverse communities and demystify Web3 tools, ensuring inclusivity in decentralized initiatives. Find the entire conversation here: https://lnkd.in/dZDqiJs5 Thanks again to ArtMeta for providing us with the recording!
