🌍 A quick flash back to France Digitale's #Impact Day yesterday afternoon at Aircall's offices ! Our Founding Partner, Thierry Vandewalle, was honored to take part in a dynamic roundtable discussion moderated by Jérôme Masurel of 50 Partners on the theme: “Quelles thèses d’investissement pour transformer la société ?” (Which investment theses can transform society?) One particular theme centered on a powerful idea: economic performance and climate adaptation can—and must—go hand in hand. Thierry highlighted that the climate adaptation solutions that we are financing at Wind aren’t just vital for the planet—they make strong business sense, too. Why? 1️⃣ The demand for solutions is urgent and growing. As the visible effects of climate change intensify, young engineers are increasingly turning their talents toward addressing these challenges. Startups are emerging to ensure essential industries, services, and infrastructure can literally weather the storm. ⚡️🏠 2️⃣ The opportunities for investors are immense. 🧳🤑 From ESG criteria to core market logic, investing in climate adaptation is no longer just about doing good—it’s about capitalizing on a necessary and profitable shift. 3️⃣ France needs more players in industrial deeptech. 🦾🤓 Wind is proud to be one of the few industrial deeptech VCs in Europe, but the magnitude of the challenge demands many more actors to enter this space and increasing public and private investing if we are to successfully built resilient infrastructures and industries while ensuring European independence and sovereignty. We were also inspired by the insights shared by fellow panelists: 👏Camille Richard (Alter Equity) and Nadia FILALI(Caisse des Dépôts) who added valuable perspectives on the growing impact landscape and underscored the importance of strong ESG practices, not just as a moral imperative but as a tool for ensuring long-term business resilience. Comment ça se passe, la vente de sa boîte? Le process pre-cession, les modalités d’achat, les earn out, la vie post exit … Et oui, tous les entrepreneurs se posent ces questions tellement importantes puisqu’une cession est souvent l’aboutissement d’années ou décennies de travail acharné!
