Open source cryptographic tools that make protecting privacy easy with Homomorphic Encryption
À propos
We believe people should not care about privacy. Not because it doesn't matter, but because it shouldn't be an issue! From data breaches and surveillance of cloud applications, to blockchain smart contracts where everything is public, doing things privately online is becoming increasingly complicated. The only way to solve this is to make everything encrypted end-to-end, regardless of where the application is running. And the only way this can happen is if homomorphic encryption becomes mainstream. We are a remote-friendly company with headquarters in the centre of Paris.

Some exciting news to share! Zama has collaborated with the Kinexys by J.P. Morgan's team to bring confidential asset tokenization onchain using the #fhEVM. This is one of the biggest opportunity for blockchain, and one in which FHE will play a major role. Asset tokenization is a multi-billion industry that experts predict will become a multi-trillion one in the future. But to get there, we need to ensure that investors' identities and positions are kept secret, while making sure financial applications are fully compliant and composable. This is where FHE comes in. By keeping the onchain assets and identities encrypted at all times, we can guarantee no-one can see them but those who are supposed to. Compliance can then be built into the smart contracts directly, simply by writing Solidity code. What kind of use case does the #fhEVM unlocks? Private fund subscriptions, blind auctions on secondary markets, encrypted settlements (DvP), and confidential onchain KYC/AML for identity verification are just some of them. We believe this is just the start however, and that eventually, FHE-enabled blockchains will be the rails on which finance, identity and governance will run in a composable, verifiable and confidential way. Finally I would like to thank Alexandra Prager Keerthi Moudgal Nikhil S. Stephanie Lok Joe Leung George Kassis Ganesh Anantwar and the whole Kinexys team for their incredible work. They are true pioneers when it comes to blockchain and finance! You can read more about the announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eq26Ycp8

🚀 From Billions to Trillions 💡 Onyx Digital Assets is now Kinexys Digital Assets and we tokenize billions of dollars every day — but how can the industry leap from billions to trillions? I'm excited to share a report I've co-authored with my amazing colleagues at JPMorgan on exactly that! 👉 https://lnkd.in/dxcEJxUK 📖 Earlier this year, Google integrated blockchain searches. Now, you can simply google "vitalik.eth" and voilà — you'll see the full transaction history of that address. While this level of transparency is a well-known design choice in the EVM world, it brings up important considerations for financial institutions. For these institutions to truly industrialize tokenization, transaction privacy is essential. 🌐 There are various ways to achieve privacy, but it's crucial, especially for EVMs, that we implement privacy without sacrificing the core benefits of blockchain — like decentralization, efficient settlement, reduced reconciliations, trust minimization, a shared global ledger, and programmability. ⚡ This is where technologies like Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) shine, both within and beyond the blockchain sphere. 🔥 It is official! Onyx is now rebranded to Kinexys by J.P.Morgan This rebrand represents our commitment to connecting the global financial ecosystem onchain. 🚀 Announcing Project EPIC (Enterprise Privacy Identity and Composability) With global AUM set to hit $30 trillion in the next 3 years, we see immense growth potential for tokenized assets. Yet, achieving that growth hinges on two critical elements: robust onchain privacy and digital identity solutions. 🌱 Project EPIC - Here’s our vision: Privacy: Balancing onchain transparency and confidentiality Identity: Enabling Privacy-preserving on-chain identity Composability: Building blocks for identity, privacy, and tokenized assets 💡 POC Highlights Our focus was on the investment funds ecosystem, enabling onchain investor onboarding, settlement, and secondary trading of tokenized assets. Leveraging privacy technology like Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) for AML/KYC compliance, this POC integrated our open-source Kinexys SSI SDK with Zama (Rand) 's FHE tech. 🤝 A Collaborative Effort A big thank you to Apollo(Christine Moy) Albourne, Formidium, , Schroders, and University of Cambridge Investment Management Limited for confirming the opportunities and requirements across all participant types in the fund lifecycle. 🎊 Grateful to the J.P. Morgan Applied Research team (Shaltiel and team), Fhenix (Guy), AvaCloud, Aztec (Stephen) and Parfin Rayls (Marcos) who implemented solutions following our shared business requirements. Check out their case studies below! 🛣️ Join Us on the Kinexys Digital Identity Journey Project EPIC builds on years of achievements in onchain identity. -> In 2022, we launched Guardian 1 with MAS, bringing identity to institutional DeFi. -> In 2023, we open-sourced our SSI SDK and spearheaded our first external Digital Identity Hackathon. -> In 2024, with Project EPIC, we’re advancing privacy-preserving identity. Interested in learning more? Let’s connect and explore synergies—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
