A special thanks to all our Scholars, Alumni, partners and offices team who actively participated in this campaign, allowing more bright African students interested in pursuing their studies in social sciences and humanities to discover Sciences Po! Meet Sciences Po in your city, fully aligned with the desire of our institution to open the doors of quality higher education to students with an academic excellence background no matter where they come from, because we firmly believe that financial barriers should not get in the way of education. For Judith J. and Yvant Brice Yepmo, attending the 2024 AFRICA FINANCIAL SUMMIT - AFIS in Casablanca was both a game changer and an experience that reshaped their ambitions for the future. Alongside 1,000 leaders from across Africa's financial sector, Yvant Brice and Judith, attended insightful sessions about: strengthening Africa's financial institutions, increasing regional integration, accelerating cross-border payments, building a pan-African stock exchange, and solving challenges using home-grown African solutions. The Sciences Po Summer School & Short Courses has welcomed 21 students for the first edition of the online programme Academic Toolbox and 19 students for the Espace Mondial course! Through the two courses in Academic Writing & Epistemology in Politics, students have learnt new skills, and have engaged in an in-depth exploration of critical academic areas such as social sciences methodology, academic writing, and quantitative data. During the same month, 19 students from our partner universities Abomey-Calavi (Bénin), Université Gaston Berger (Sénégal), 2iE (Burkina Faso) followed a course with Professeur Frédéric Ramel “Espace Mondial”, which is an introduction to international relations. We thank the Summer School Team, the Sciences Po Migration and Diversity initiative for supporting these innovative programmes!

🌍 Two Mastercard Foundation Scholars from Sciences Po at the Africa Financial Summit in Morocco! #AFIS2024 🌍 For the first time, the AFRICA FINANCIAL SUMMIT - AFIS will welcome two outstanding students from Sciences Po, selected for their academic excellence, leadership potential and strong desire to have an impact on the African continent. Judith J., Master’s student in Economic Law, and Yvant Brice Yepmo, Master’s student in International Business and Sustainability. These Scholars will not only gain invaluable insights but also bring fresh perspectives to the discussions shaping the continent’s financial landscape. Their participation represents a pivotal step in AFIS’s mission to bridge education, opportunity, and the transformation of Africa’s financial ecosystem. A look back at the in-person information session organised in Nairobi, in partnership with Alliance Française de Nairobi, WUSC and Campus France, followed by a discussion with Kwizera Amos, a United States International University - Africa and Sciences Po Alumni who shared his inspiring journey, his tips and tricks to apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. Amos graduated from the Master’s degree in Human rights and humanitarian action from the PSIA - Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po in June 2024. He is now the country director of CIYOTA in DRC, working to give more access to quality education to refugee and Internally Displaced children. Amos has one recommendation to the prospective applicants to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program: “Be clear enough to show the link between your community involvement/ former area of studies to the programme you are interested in.” Less than two weeks left before the end of the applications for the 2025 intake! 📣 Sciences Po inaugure son nouveau bureau à Dakar pour rayonner sur le continent africain. 🌍 Depuis plus de quinze ans, nous avons fait de l’Afrique un pilier central de notre développement #international, renouvelant notre positionnement et multipliant les initiatives en partenariat avec le continent. Sciences Po est aujourd’hui l’université française qui envoie le plus d'étudiants effectuer une partie de leurs études en Afrique et l’une des universités européennes comptant le plus de partenariats universitaires actifs sur ce continent, 34. 🤝 Nous accueillons également près de 700 étudiants de 46 nationalités africaines au sein de notre communauté étudiante. Grâce au soutien de notre partenaire la Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Sciences Po qui a renouvelé et renforcé son engagement à nos côtés, nous portons l’ambition de soutenir, former et accompagner vers la transition professionnelle, au cours des 10 prochaines années, 1 450 étudiants et jeunes professionnels africains faisant preuve d’un parcours académique d’excellence, d’un fort potentiel en matière de leadership, d’une volonté d’impact et de participation au changement sur le continent africain, et se trouvant confrontés à de multiples barrières - notamment financières - d’accès à l’enseignement supérieur. 🎓 Il y a quelques semaines, nous lancions également l’Africa Programme, pour valoriser, coordonner et animer les activités scientifiques, pédagogiques et partenariales de Sciences Po relatives au continent africain. Six ans après Nairobi, l’ouverture d’un nouveau bureau à Dakar, en partenariat avec Université Rose Dieng France-Sénégal (Ex CFS) et avec le soutien de la Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Sciences Po, témoigne de notre volonté à Sciences Po de continuer de faire rayonner notre offre à travers tout le continent et d’élargir les modalités de partenariat avec les universités africaines.
