So We Won’t Forget Lyrics
Ooh, one to remember
Writing it down now
So we won't forget
Ooh, never enough paper
Never enough letters
So we won't forget
[Verse]
Call me what you want
Call me what you need
Words don't have to say
Keep it to myself
[Chorus]
Ooh, every minute
Every hour
So we won't forget
You don't have to be silent
Say to remind me
So we won't forget
Ooh
[Bridge]
Call me what you want
Call me what you need
Words don't have to say
Keep it to myself
Call me what you want
Call me what you need
Words don't have to say
Keep it to myself
Ooh, one to remember
Writing it down now
So we won't forget
Ooh, never enough paper
Never enough letters
So we won't forget
Ooh, every minute
Every hour
So we won't forget
You don't have to be silent
Say to remind me
So we won't forget
[Interlude]
[Chorus]
Ooh, one to remember
Writing it down now
So we won't forget
Ooh, never enough paper
Never enough letters
So we won't forget
Ooh, every minute
Every hour
So we won't forget
You don't have to be silent
Say to remind me
So we won't forget
Ooh
Ooh, say you remember
For I think I've lost it
About
The song was originally in E Major and was switched to D Major (the direct opposite of “Time (You And I)”) in order to accommodate the band’s vocal ranges. Because of the key change, Laura Lee had to re-learn her bass part that she’d written months before and transpose it. It was the first time in Khruangbin history that she needed to re-record a bass part. She recorded it in one take, saying, “It was a perfect take from start to finish… It was a huge moment for me as a player.”
“Needless to say, I was surprised and extremely happy. I guess that’s what happens when you tour for four years.”
Mark’s guitar part is directly inspired by the music of Franco Luambo and TPOK Jazz. The bass and drums during the breakdown of this song was inspired by post-punk / post-disco bands like Liquid Liquid and The Jellies. This song has a lot of “snare magic.”
