Lights On Lyrics

[Intro]
Ooh (Yeah)
Ooh (Right there)
Ooh (You know)
(I feel it)

[Verse 1]
Don't even address me unless you gon' undress me ('Less you gon' undress me, yeah)
Tryna see what that mouth do cause that money don't impress me (Uh-uh)
If you're about to make moves, better make it look sexy (Make that shit sexy)
I just got one house rule, let me put in my request, please
Tonight I want you to

[Chorus]
Love me with the lights on (Love me with the lights on)
You're fuckin' with a star with a mean face card
Let me show it's yours (Let me switch you)
Love me with the lights on (Love me with the lights on)
You're fuckin' with a star, give me rounds of applause
You know I can perform

[Post-Chorus]
Lights, lights on (On)
Lights on (Lights, lights)

[Verse 2]
Make you come fast like a '98 sports car
Blink twice, it's already gon' be over
When I ride you, something like a jet ski
Might finish just by lookin' at me, yeah
You know everything that I do, I'ma make it look sexy
And I know it's not fair to make you stare
But tonight I want you to
[Chorus]
Love me with the lights on (Love me with the lights on)
You're fuckin' with a star with a mean face card
Let me show you it's yours (Love, let me switch you)
Love me with the lights on (Love me with the lights on)
You're fuckin' with a star, give me rounds of applause
You know I can perform (Lights on)

[Post-Chorus]
Would you say that shit?
All the while on your mind, can't believe that shit
(On)
Would you say that shit? (Lights)
All the while on your mind, can't believe that bitch (On)

[Bridge]
There's somethin' to be said about
When things feel as good as they look
Or look as good as they feel
So, you should see this, lights

[Chorus]
Love me with the lights on (Love me with the lights on, with the lights on)
You're fuckin' with a star with a mean face card (Ooh)
Let me show you it's yours (Let me switch you, ooh)
Love me with the lights on (Love me with the lights on)
You're fuckin' with a star, give me rounds of applause
You know I can perform (Lights)
[Post-Chorus]
Would you say that shit?
All the while on your mind, can't believe that shit
(On)
Would you say that shit? (Lights)
All the while on your mind, can't believe that bitch (On)
Would you say that shit?
All the while on your mind, can't believe that shit
(Ooh)
Would you say that shit?
All the while on your mind, can't believe that bitch

[Outro]
Uh, right there
On, off
Lights on, on
Uh, lights on

What did Normani say about "Lights On"?
Genius Answer

Janet, was definitely and still is one of the most influential artists for me. She’s definitely paved the way and when I think of the women that I aspire to follow the footsteps of, she’s definitely up there. And she has had so much impact on me. Sonically, you’ll be able to hear the inspiration for sure.

What did Normani say about "Lights On"?
Genius Answer

Do you know ‘Would You Mind’ by Janet? That’s what I wanted to feel—the feeling that I felt listening to that song. Definitely inspired by that, in me taking the power, in me not being afraid to feel dominant in that circumstance or in that position. You find the confidence within yourself to also be authoritative, dominant, and vocal. I’m comfortable. I feel like I have been for a while, but that’s definitely evolved. And it’s not necessarily due to anybody else. It’s about you being comfortable in your skin and finding that within yourself. Not necessarily dictated or contingent on what somebody else brings. I just wanted my divine femininity to flow. And that it did.
