Genius Annotation

Released Christmas morning, Radiohead revealed the track that would have been their theme song for the 25th James Bond film, “Spectre”. For one reason or another, it didn’t quite work out and Sam Smith would end up with the gig instead, recording “Writing’s On The Wall.”

Whatever the reason for the rejection, it wasn’t for a lack of quality. The final product pairs the gorgeous desolation of a Radiohead song with the sinister elegance of a Bond theme, oddly proving to be quite a fitting match.

Thom Yorke explained further through his twitter, presenting the song on Soundcloud.
