Golden Child, Chapter 3

Golden Child, Chapter 3 is the third installment in the Golden Child series by Autumn! and his long-awaited sophomore studio album, following up both April 2022’s Antagonist! and August 2022’s Golden Child, Chapter 2.

Although the album’s production began in 2022, “Still The Same!” and “If It Means Anything!” were released in the span of January 2020 and February 2021, serving as the album’s lead singles.

Autumn! first teased about the project in November 2022, during an Instagram livestream where he teased snippets of the project, as well as speaking about the project, saying that the album would feature some of Autumn!’s older style and new style of music (as well as saying that half the project is full of Plugg music) and that it has “no misses.”

“You > Them (Hate It!)” would serve as the album’s third single, released on November 18, 2022, with “All My Duffles Goyard!” being released later on December 16, 2022, as the album’s fourth single.

To help further promote the album, Autumn! released the EP ##B4GC3 ##B4GC3 on January 20, 2023. It consists of four singles recorded during the Golden Child, Chapter 3 sessions. All of the songs off the EP were added onto the album.

On January 16, 2023, Autumn! teased on Twitter that Golden Child, Chapter 3 would feature twenty seven tracks in total, instead of ten tracks that he previously teased. Autumn! had also stated that the album would also not feature a deluxe:

The next day, Autumn! teased on Instagram that he would be delaying Golden Child, Chapter 3 in favor for his next teaser EP, Simp Music 2, which released on Valentines Day. He later backtracked his comment that he would drop the album after releasing ##B4GC3 ##B4GC3, but that wasn’t the case.

On January 21, 2023, Autumn! teased on Instagram that if ##B4GC3 ##B4GC3 reached over a million streams on Spotify, he would drop the album on January 27, however that also ended up not being the case.

On January 23, 2023, it was reported that Autumn! would be using one of the pictures posted on his Instagram as the album’s cover art, but that may change down the line.

On January 28, 2023, Autumn! shared a partial tracklist of the album, with some songs from Simp Music 2 and ##B4GC3 ##B4GC3 being on the project, such as “If It Means Anything 2” and “The Remorse!”

In February 2023, Autumn! revealed in a now-deleted Instagram story that the track “Can’t Rent Anymore!" would be on the album. Autumn! would then reveal that he would be releasing the song the following Friday, along with a new song, which would lead up to the release of Golden Child, Chapter 3. “Can’t Rent Anymore” would later release on February 10, 2023, serving as the final single off the album.

Following the release of “Can’t Rent Anymore,” Autumn! took to Instagram revealing to a fan that he would be releasing Simp Music 2 on March 3 to help promote the album further, with a new release date of March 10, however both projects missed their intended release dates. Autumn! then teased that “Can’t Rent Anymore” would be the final single off the album, with him revealing that fifteen new songs would be released.

On March 9, 2023, Autumn! officially confirmed in a now-deleted Instagram story that he would not be releasing any more singles, in favor of promoting the album. Then on March 20, Autumn! revealed on Instagram that the album would officially be dropping on March 31. The next day, Autumn! announced that he would be revealing the tracklist and cover art the same week. He would later reveal that he would reveal both the cover art and tracklist on March 27.

To help further promote the album, throughout the span of March 22 and March 26, Autumn! shared a wide range of snippets of the songs off the album through his TikTok page, with songs such as “Still The Same! 2,” “Like That!,” and many more.

On March 25, 2023, Autumn! took to Instagram livestream where he showed his fans uploading the album through DistroKid, while playing a small bit of the song “I Am The Goat!” In the livestream, the album consists of twenty-four tracks in total and in the end of the stream, Autumn! revealed the album’s official cover art, although it was low quality.

Finally on March 27, Autumn! would officially reveal the album’s cover art (in higher quality) and the tracklist, as well as revealing that it would be officially released on March 31, although it was released a day earlier in certain parts of the world.
