DEPUTY MINISTER FOR EMPLOYMENT MARKS GREEN GHANA DAY On Friday, 7th June 2024 the Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Hon. Dr. Festus Awuah Kwofie (MP), led staff and management to plant trees at the premises of the Ministry with a call to plant a tree in their backyard to mark the Green Ghana Day. The theme for the 2024 Green Ghana Day is “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow” with a target of ten million trees seedlings expected to be planted today. Hon. Dr. Awuah Kwoffie emphasized that the tree planting exercise should not be a one-off event but a commitment to a sustained effort in fostering green spaces within our communities. He called for the adoption of a ten-acre land outside Accra especially areas affected by illegal mining activities known as “Galamsey” to afforest the land. He said such an initiative would be emulated by other Ministries which would help fight against land degradation and climate change. #ministryofemploymentandlabourrelations #GreenGhana
