Today, as the world observes the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, Pecan Energies reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding our environment. The ozone layer, which reduces harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation reaching Earth by approximately 99%, plays a critical role in protecting life. Without it, increased UV exposure would significantly heighten the risks of skin cancer, cataracts, and harm to ecosystems, including marine life. It is our collective responsibility to ensure its preservation. The United Nations-backed Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion report confirms the phase-out of nearly 99% of banned ozone-depleting substances. However, the recovery of the ozone layer remains fragile, with projections indicating full restoration over Antarctica by 2066, provided we continue our efforts.
