As the Western Regional Representative on the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) on the ACTIVATE Project, I am excited to announce the commencement of the ACTIVATE Project, a comprehensive initiative that will be implemented across all sixteen regions of Ghana. The project, spearheaded by World University Service of Canada (WUSC - EUMC) Ghana in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is designed to empower youth, women, and PWDs through four (4) major Programs. These are; 1. Vegetables: Practical vegetable production, including innovative greenhouse cultivation. 2. Fabrication and Maintenance: Training in welding and fabrication of agricultural equipment, and maintenance of machinery. 3. Processing: Techniques for processing nuts, fruits, meat products, mushrooms, and cassava. 4. Special Services: Training in veterinary services, production materials, farm advisory services, AgriTech solutions, and digital marketing. This is a unique opportunity where participants will gain valuable skills and the opportunity to access grants and scholarships upon successful completion, helping them to start or grow their own businesses.. We encourage all youth, women, and PWDs to take advantage of this incredible project to enhance your skills, create business opportunities, and contribute to sustainable community development. Let’s ACTIVATE our potential together! Stay tuned for more information on how to get involved! #agriculture #TVET #agritech

  • 🌟 Exciting Visit at Wislaw Education and Support Fund! Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Eric Adomako and Madam Salimatu Azumah from Social Enterprise Ghana Social Enterprise Ghana. Their visit was part of the ongoing evaluation of potential training hubs for the #ACTIVATE project. In Ghana, agriculture is a key economic driver representing 23% of GDP and 54% of the country’s total workforce. This sector presents significant potential for employment and economic opportunities for young people. The Accelerating Change Through Innovation in Agricultural TVET (ACTIVATE) program, funded by the Mastercard Foundation through #WUSC_Ghana, is a 5-year initiative dedicated to enhancing the well-being and resilience of young women and men across Ghana. This project focuses on building a responsive Agriculture Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) system that bridges the gap between education, skills training, and industry collaboration. The ACTIVATE project is targeted to youth, mostly women, including persons with disabilities, refugees, and displaced persons. We are thrilled about the opportunity to contribute to this transformative program and play a role in fostering a strong agricultural sector through innovative training and strategic partnerships. 🌱 #wislawedufund #ACTIVATEProject #Agriculture #Innovation #TVET #YouthEmpowerment #SocialEnterpriseGhana #GhanaFederationofDisabilityOrganizations #MastercardFoundation
