We’ve had a fantastic year using our Impact Hours by getting out to help local communities in Gibraltar…with 153 hours and counting! 👊 💚 It has been great being able to support various charities such as the local dog shelter, Generous Hearts, Possabilities, GibSams, Animals in Need Foundation, Childline, Breast Cancer Support, Cancer Relief Gibraltar, and GADS – to name but a few. We have announced today that our subsidiary, Admiral Insurance (Gibraltar) Limited, has invested into Schroders Capital’s Junior Infrastructure Debt Europe Fund III.   The Fund focuses on investing in sustainable infrastructure projects that contribute to key megatrends such as energy transition, digital infrastructure and green transportation, while delivering social benefits and good financial returns.   Geraint Jones, our Group Chief Financial Officer explains: “This investment aligns with both our strategic and commercial objectives. According to the Gibraltar Health Authority, approximately one in four of us will experience a mental health need at some point in our lives. Having access to the right treatment and support is a key aspect to recovering. As part of AIGL’s local community sponsorship programme in 2024, the team chose to sponsor GibSams’ new face-to-face training offering. GibSams does an extraordinary amount for the community in Gibraltar by offering a mental health network for anyone in mental distress and we are proud to be able to support such a worthy cause (pictured: GibSams’ CEO Brenda Cuby, AIGL’s COO Lisa Casemore and CFO Will Moulder). It’s a team social kind of week! We had a great time yesterday spending time together outside the office. Having social events with colleagues can really help boost team moral by offering an opportunity to get to connect on a deeper level. Now on to planning the next! #teamsocial #companyculture 

Here at AIGL we are passionate about giving back to the community and Admiral Group Plc supports this by offering staff two days each of volunteer work per year (known as Impact Hours). Most recently, AIGL colleagues visited our local dog shelter to entertain some of the residents on much-needed walks around the countryside. It’s incredibly rewarding knowing we have the opportunity to make such a hands-on difference – not only are we a pet insurer but we are a team of animal lovers! Will Moulder (CFO), Lisa Casemore (COO) and Keith Davies (Admiral’s Group Chief Risk Officer) are delighted to have attended the HM Government of Gibraltar’s Insurance Breakfast in London this morning at The Walbrook Building. Sadly Keith missed the photo op! Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry Nigel Feetham KC MP, who is responsible for Gibraltar’s financial services, hosted the event. The annual breakfast forms part of a series of meetings hosted by HM Government of Gibraltar which are great opportunities to connect with those within the sector. With c.35% of UK motor insurance underwritten in Gibraltar, it is vital that the local industry is well-supported. It was a fun week in the office for Green week at Admiral. Lots of ideas shared and commitments made. Great to see all the team are up for the challenge of keeping their plants alive, I'm looking forward to seeing the update photos later in the year! Thanks also to Mr C for inspiration for the plant based breakfast!

In support of Green Week at Admiral, the AIGL team has engaged in a number of sustainability activities. Team members have committed to personal ‘green’ pledges such as car sharing / walking to work / turning off lights in rooms not being used. We have also shared lots of tips around the office 🚗 🚶♀️ 💡 Adopting a more plant-based diet is one of the most effective ways to reduce our environmental impact. Here is the team’s delicious 15-plant ingredient granola breakfast we made together this week. All the team were presented with a plant to care for either at home or in the office. In support of International Day of Sign Languages on 23rd September, the AIGL team hosted an introductory British Sign Language (BSL) lesson from Gill Earle at SigncodeUK, who works closely with the Gibraltar Hearing Issues and Tinnitus Association (GHITA). The team learnt essential communication skills and gained valuable insight into the BSL community in Gibraltar. BSL was recognised as official language of Gibraltar from 2022 and currently around 7% of Gibraltarians experience some form of hearing difficulty. #InternationalDayofSignLanguages #BritishSignLanguage #GHITA #inclusivity #communiciation #development
