In July 10, 2024 we participated as keynote speakers in the 2nd Balkans & Black Sea Forum Executive RoundTable 2024 by Geo Routes Institute, conducted in the Athenian Club, where in the 2nd Committee on the #security of European infrastructures we presented our quantitative findings on the global supply chain of Strategic and Critical Raw Materials (SCRMs), highlighting the criticality of #rareearths and #uranium for #AI, among distinguished specialists from international organizations and the business world. EVOTROPIA Ecological Finance Architectures participated in the international exhibition "Beyond 2024: The Age of AI", between 25-27 April in Thessaloniki as part of the THEAthens Startup Business Incubator team, supported by the ΕΒΕΑ - ACCI | Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We had the opportunity to present to a special audience the features of our digital infrastructure #CYMBIOTICA (Cybernetic Symbiosis) for the data analytics, pricing and trading of plastic recyclates (PCR/PIR) via #machinelearning methods, while we already expand its application for numerous other secondary materials, such as non-fuel minerals, Circular Building Materials (CBMs), agricultural and olive oil mill by-products. Microplastics deriving from plastics' pollution is currently the worst conventional form of water resources degradation. The recycling of plastics currently achieves a global average of ~35% with its majority supplied by the PET family as only one of the 7 main polymer families. As plastic materials are by-products of hydrocarbons, the application of Machine Learning for their recycling with supply chain #transparency to prevent #greenwashing practices belongs to a range of #algorithmic solutions for the production of high value-added secondary materials with lower life-cycle environmental footprint. Our participation was part of the ACCI #SUCCEED project, funded by Norway Grants by Innovation Norway. The latest publication led by EVOTROPIA Ecological Finance Architectures on #industrialsymbiosis financial engineering and innovative contribution is now published and available online! Our work with title "Chemical Leasing (ChL) and the Sherwood Plot" with co-author Prof. Dr. Christos Makropoulos is the most recent achievement of the research alliance between #EVOTROPIA and Urban Water Management and Hydroinformatics Group of NTUA on innovative business models and financial instruments for the Circular Economy, in the context of the ULTIMATE Water EU Water EU project. While technological progress has been significant, a major (still unresolved) challenge lies in adopting #businessmodels and #financialinstruments that optimize the recovery process with win-win industrial agreements and achieve self-sustained profits in the market without the need for subsidizing or government support. In our work we develop the microeconomic architecture for Chemical Leasing (#ChL) contracts on the foundations of the Sherwood Plot that models a resource's dilution in a waste matrix and its cost of recovery. This approach establishes industrial synergies and efficient recovery at minimal costs. We further introduce a ChL market typology, where #information completeness is the critical variable for intra-industry ChL agreements, while we examine three different ChL #pricing systems and their profitability limits. Ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία ο κύκλος webinars "Building Circularity Sessions" που διοργάνωσε η Ειδική Επιτροπή για την Κυκλική Οικονομία και το Δομημένο Περιβάλλον του SBC GREECE (Sustainable Building Council Greece).
