Started back in 2009 as a support group for LGBTQ+ educators, we’ve grown into a vibrant community pushing for change and making schools a safer, more inclusive space for all. What do we do? Πολύχρωμο Σχολείο – Rainbow School is a pioneering organization committed to advancing inclusivity and equality in education. Founded in 2009, we began as a support network for LGBTQ+ educators and have grown into an activist group advocating for systemic changes to create more inclusive and accepting schools. Over the years, we've built a broad network of educators, social scientists, mental health professionals, and LGBTQ+ community members, all united in our mission to combat discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics within the Greek educational system. Our goals include raising awareness, training educators, and producing educational materials while pushing for institutional reforms that ensure inclusivity in schools. We also focus on creating a culture of respect, critical thinking, and citizenship, all while promoting equal rights for marginalized communities. Through collaboration with various organizations, research, and ongoing advocacy, Πολύχρωμο Σχολείο works to break down stereotypes and make Greek education a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for all students, teachers, and families.
