As we conclude the #16DaysofActivism Against Gender-Based Violence, we reaffirm the critical role of #humanrights as a preventative, protective, and transformative force for good. Human rights empower individuals and communities to envision and create a better, safer future. The theme for #HumanRightsDay 2024, "Our rights, our future, right now," underscores the universal impact of human rights in our daily lives and reminds us that the fight for equality and dignity continues every day, everywhere. Together, we can build a future free from violence and filled with hope.

Many countries also struggle with enforcing existing laws designed to protect women’s rights, leading to gaps between legislation and practice. #16DaysOfActivism #EndFemicide #StopGBV #BeijingDeclaration #Beijing30

Significant disparities in pay persist, with women earning less than men for similar work. Closing this gap remains a critical area needing attention. Also, women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions across sectors, limiting their influence on policies affecting gender equality. #16DaysOfActivism #EndFemicide #StopGBV #BeijingDeclaration
