🔷 There is a trend in some parts, to frown (if only) upon any speculation as to causation, when confronted with troubling facts, because such speculation is not proven. It is as if one cannot know anything, unless it has been subjected to randomisation, a longitudinal study, or a part of massive datasets. Talking to a person, who has experienced something, barely cuts it. 🔷 We must all be alert to bias, but if we can't think, hypothesise or propose ideas, we really are in trouble when it comes to the immediate present. Surely freedom of speech must be the stuff of research too. 🔷 Having witnessed at close quarters and (slowly) understood how recommender systems push extreme content to young people, it is not much of a surprise that extreme views grow in young and fertile minds, given the right dose. 🔷 So, how would you 'explain' the facts reported by Verian Group below? They really bother me.

We need to increase the share of women in leadership and decision-making roles. 📈 According to the European Institute for Gender Equality Index, the average share of women on corporate boards in the EU countries was 33% in 2023. Measures are needed to move towards gender equality.
