Alarming 🚨 A recent study by Applied DNA Sciences and Stratum Reservoir has uncovered a troubling reality: prohibited cotton from China’s Xinjiang region is still pervasive in global supply chains. Startling Statistics: 👕 19% of garments sampled that was sold in the U.S. and abroad contains Xinjiang cotton. 🔬 Over 820 samples were tested using advanced DNA tagging and isotopic analysis. 🏷 57% of products containing Xinjiang cotton were mislabeled as solely sourced from the U.S. 🌏 66% of samples were mixed with cotton from other regions. 👚 34% were exclusively from Xinjiang. Under the U.S. Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, importing cotton from Xinjiang is forbidden due to forced labor concerns.
