【Smart-Space PropTech】Cyberport and HKHS Continue to Nurture Start-ups for Advancing PropTech Development Hong Kong’s first PropTech co-working space, Smart-Space PropTech, jointly established by Cyberport and the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS), has been in operation for over a year and a half. The first cohort of 13 start-ups that settled in has successfully developed various innovative PropTech products and solutions through the first phase of the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Programme. A ceremony was held recently (25 November) to celebrate the achievements and welcome a new cohort of 14 start-ups to settle in simultaneously to start the second phase of the PoC Programme. At the ceremony, representatives of start-ups participating in the first cohort shared their experiences and achievements acquired from more than 10 field trials conducted in HKHS’s rental housing estates over the past year and a half. They also shared insights gained through Cyberport’s entrepreneurial guidance under the programme. By participating in various activities including workshops, business matching, and industry exchanges, the start-ups are empowered to accelerate business growth, expand market reach, and unlock new opportunities for collaboration. The officiating guests of the ceremony were Prof Ling Kar-kan, SBS, Chairman of Hong Kong Housing Society, and Mr Simon Chan, BBS, JP, Chairman of Cyberport. Prof Ling Kar-kan, SBS, Chairman of Hong Kong Housing Society, expressed his anticipation for the achievements of the second cohort over the next 18 months, driving further momentum in making Hong Kong a smart city. Mr Simon Chan, BBS, JP, Chairman of Cyberport, stated the industry leaders can exchange views through various activities organised by Cyberport, thereby leading the industry in adopting technological advances. Cyberport is delighted to see the fruitful results of the PoC Programme jointly organised with HKHS. The new cohort of 14 start-ups will focus on developing solutions related to property management such as enhancing efficiency of security work, facilitating smart carpark management, improving waste recycling, and more, which will help drive the innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem in the Northern Metropolis and help develop Hong Kong into a smart city.
