Congratulations to our partner, Indicium Dynamics, for collaborating with Goldwind Australia and Sustainable Timber Tasmania to deploy the Fire Foresight Solution. The AI-powered system enhances early bushfire detection, protecting Tasmania’s communities, landscapes, and critical infrastructure. A remarkable achievement in safeguarding the environment! #FireForesight #machinevision #bushfire #wildfire
🔥 Protecting Communities and Critical Infrastructure from Bushfire 🔥 We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Indicium Dynamics, Goldwind Australia and Sustainable Timber Tasmania to deliver our Fire Foresight Solution to Brady’s Fire Tower in Tasmania’s Central Highlands. In a first for #Tasmania, Goldwind Australia has funded the deployment of Fire Foresight technology to protect communities and nation-building infrastructure, including wind farms and transmission networks - a significant investment via its proposed Bashan Wind Farm development. This camera joins Indicium’s high-tech, AI-driven fire detection network, which now includes 10 cameras actively monitoring across Tasmania to enhance early bushfire detection and response. 🔹 How it works: Our AI-powered system operates 24/7/365 to monitor for signs of smoke, providing real-time alerts to help contain fires before they escalate. 🔹 Why it matters: With bushfire risks increasing this summer, early detection is critical for protecting Tasmania’s landscapes, infrastructure, and remote communities like Dee, which recently faced devastating fires. At Indicium Dynamics, we strive to utilise technology to improve social and environmental outcomes, and we’re thrilled to be working in partnership with two great organisations that also share these values. We visited our conservation partner's farm this week. We were exploring how AI and IoT technologies can help farm and protect wildlife better. Regenerative farming is an agricultural approach that aims to restore ecosystem health while producing food sustainably. It employs practices like minimal soil disturbance, crop diversity, reduced chemical inputs, and holistic grazing management. This method offers significant environmental benefits, including improved soil health, increased water retention, and reduced erosion. Regenerative farming contributes to cooling the Earth by sequestering carbon, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving albedo through healthier vegetation. We are keen to deploy cameras and sensors to monitor and measure the benefits of regenerative farming. To measure what matters - temperature, moisture, and other key factors - we need some big brains to move faster!

🌐 Last week the CISL Network held an event in Hong Kong: Beyond ESG - Leading the Transition to Competitive Sustainability in Asia. Keynotes were given by CISL’s CEO, Lindsay Hooper and Jie Zhou, CISL’s Head of International Engagement, Accelerator and Canopy (CISL) . Local experts shared their views in two panel discussions: Katy Yung, CEO Sustainable Finance Initiative Olivia To, Senior Vice President, InvestHK Dr. William Yu, 世界綠色組織 (World Green Organisation) Alexander Bent, Managing Partner at Undivided Ventures Tristan Ace, Chief Programme Officer at AVPN Vriko Yu, Co-Founder & CEO of Archireef Andre Cheung, CEO of Robotics Cats Isaac Ng, Head of Investment, MTR Lab Company Limited Dr. Angus Yip, Certified ESG Planner CEP®, Founding Chairman, International Chamber of Sustainable Development 🍃 While there is growing interest in "nature-positive," the harsh reality is that most commercial activity is deeply nature-negative. This is a systemic problem that requires fundamental transformation. Many businesses recognise the costs and risks of inaction and see the opportunities that could be unlocked. But markets punish them for acting voluntarily and they are competitively undermined by others who continue to profit from unsustainable practices. It's clear that we can no longer rely on voluntary action to drive change. 🔀 The leadership agenda for business must shift from setting targets, disclosing and focusing on individual company change to driving a "whole of economy" transition. This requires a fundamental shift in mindset, from trying to put "sustainability thinking" into business to putting "business thinking" into sustainability. Innovation is the lifeblood of any organisation. But in today's complex world, traditional, siloed approaches to innovation are no longer sufficient. We need a new paradigm: system innovation. Here's why: 🏃 Incremental change is too slow: The challenges we face demand bold, transformative action. We can't afford to tinker around the edges anymore. 📦 Siloed thinking leads to unintended consequences: focusing on individual gains and market-driven outcomes can create unintended consequences and worsen existing problems. 🕸️ We need to understand the complex web of relationships between different systems and leverage innovation to catalyse positive change. Jie shared a metaphor: “Imagine a system innovation approach as acupuncture: instead of treating individual symptoms, we stimulate the body's natural healing abilities through key leverage points. This holistic approach leads to system-level transformation, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Thank you to the International Chamber of Sustainable Development and World Green Organisation for their support. Our new course, Sustainability Innovation Strategy for Businesses and Entrepreneurs, is launching now: https://lnkd.in/gV2RaTda
