To promote SDGs through science and dialogue

About us

Teen Animals Da Scientists is an initiative dedicated to achieving and raise awareness on Sustainable Development Goals, No.4 Quality Education in particular. In Teen Animals da Scientists, members produce science podcasts and conduct online debates. Some of the recent podcasts' topic include animals in extinction and fields of science-related studies starting from a to z. On the other side, our most recent debate is on whether genetically resurrecting extinct animals should be prioritized over other conservation methods, which will be later shortened into podcast episodes. Members can also speak in or host courses for the need and science enthusiasts, and create Instagram posts to raise awareness on contribution to the community. We welcome passionate individuals or groups to be branches of Teen Animals da Scientists, one of which is Spirit Soothe, focusing on neuroscience and sheding light on the importance of brain health. People leading branches will receive guidance from Teen Animals da Scientists, but have total flexibility in their work. They can also collaborate with Teen Animals da Scientists to launch activities. In future, we earnestly hope to visit community centres or other organizations for talks and sharings. We are very interested in holding free courses for the need, and promote giving back as they can be featured in our podcast channel after learning through our interactive courses. We greatly value collaboration and networking, thus we will be happy if you can share with us collaborating opportunities, events to share our initiative and/ or comments about Teen Animals da Scientists. We can be contacted via teen_animals_da_scientists at Instagram or sciencechannelvm@gmail.com.

During the summer holiday, I had a nice time joining the Neuroscience Academy for the Talented hosted by HKU Academy for the Talented, where I learnt a lot more about our fascinating #brain and nervous system, and conducted a short #research project on optical illusion. The eye-opening week not only allowed me to meet students passionate about science, but also fueled my passion for #neuroscience and #medicine. Meanwhile, I also joined the English Acadmey for the Talented, where we engaged in meaningful #discussions about #SDG No.4 Quality Education, No. 5 Gender Equality and No.16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. I had the amazing opportunity to conduct research on the challenges faced by underprivileged children in Hong Kong in learning science, as well as exploring gender inequality among incarcerated women. With my heightened #passion and #knowledge in neuroscience and medicine, I'm also excited to share that I've been working with my team at Teen Animals Da Scientists (TADS) on a youth #medicine magazine scheduled for publication by the end of the year. Our focus will be on how the environment and technology impact our #health, ultimately highlighting the #interconnectedness of various #SDGs. A huge thank you to everyone who made these #opportunities possible. I'm looking forward to the journey ahead and the impact we can make together!

I am delighted to be awarded the Most Active Contribution Award and Gold Award in the SDGs eLearning Award Scheme organised by UNICEF Hong Kong to recognise my 36 #SDGs-related actions done in 3 months. It was my pleasure to be featured in an #exhibition and #panel discussion, where I shared about my experience in advocating and working towards SDGs, as well as my passion project Teen Animals Da Scientists (TADS). Our actions are akin to individual drops of rain that, when united, create a boundless ocean. If each of us takes a step forward toward achieving the #Sustainable Development Goals, we will undoubtedly create a powerful tide of #change, making a profound and lasting #impact.

  • Teen Animals Da Scientists (TADS) is holding its first face to face event on 22nd June, which is a science fair. It is an incredible partnership with HKFYG as #SDG No.4 Quality Education can be promoted through 8 booths featuring different science experiments. Special thanks to all volunteers, especially whose from Teen Animals da Scientists who made a great effort designing science experiments, including Valerie Chiu Wing-yee, Jamie Yu and more, as well as HKFYG for giving us such an amazing #opportunity. Teen Animals da Scientists is a youth-led organisation that aims at promoting Sustainable Development Goals through science and debate education. We are more than welcome to partnership opportunities, such as giving speeches, holding events, and creating posts together. Please email sciencechannelvm@gmail.com/ teenanimalsdascientists@gmail.com or Valerie Chiu Wing-yee if you would like to invite us. We are much more active on Instagram, so more information about us can be found on at teen_animals_da_scientists. (Account link: https://lnkd.in/g5dm4m7W) Thank you and have a nice day!

Happy Mother's Day!!💐💐 Mother's Day has been a remarkable event on the calendar to recognize the difficulties mothers have gone through in order to facilitate the healthy growth of their children. Therefore, I took the opportunity to share my plan on Mother's Day as a way to shed light on the sacrifices most mothers have made to the family. Throughout the years, I am grateful for my mother's support in my different causes, from developing an interest in podcasting and writing, to starting a passion project Teen Animals Da Scientists (TADS) that promotes Sustainable Development Goals and holding free science events to make education accessible and engaging. Thanks Young Post, South China Morning Post SCMP for giving me an opportunity to share my views too and here is the link to the article: https://lnkd.in/ge-wadGG

Thank you NeuroCare ED, a youth-led organisation based in Canada that aims at raising #awareness and #educating young people about the severity of #mental and #physical nervous system issues, for speaking in an interesting #neuroscience course I hosted on behalf of my organisation Teen Animals Da Scientists (TADS). My aims of hosting the course are to make #learning #accessible and fun for both participants and educators/ speakers, provide a platform for interested individuals to #collaborate on and further explore the world of neuroscience and promote #SDG No3 Good Health and Well-being and SDG No4 Quality Education. In this lesson, we touched upon the relationship of mental and physical health, and how drugs do with neuroscience. It ends with a #quiz to facilitate learning. I am very glad that participants enjoy this session, allowing me to promote the joy of life-long learning. Teen Animals da Scientists is an organisation dedicated to promoting Sustainable Development Goals (#sdgs) through science education in podcasts, debates, courses and more. It explores the relationship of different branches of studies, and embraces collaboration with other organizations. Join me in taking action to promote Sustainable Development Goals for a more ideal future!

Thanks Global Goals Council at Canadian International School of Hong Kong for organizing the SDG Summit on 16th March, where I could share my youth-led organisation Teen Animals Da Scientists (TADS) at the Impact Fair. I founded Teen Animals da Scientists in 2022 August, with the current goal of promoting #sdgs through free science podcasts, online debates and courses. It plans on expanding its online services to face to face ones, further identifying needs of the underprivileged and vulnerable. Thus, we value #collaboration with other #organisations, and an event like this SDGs Summit will be beneficial and crucial for the growth of not only Teen Animals da Scientists, but also me and its members. Besides, the SDG Summit is where I could listen to engaging talks and sharings by great NGOs members, inspiring young people, and enjoy two interesting workshops organised by Centre for Refugees and the Speech and Debate club at CDNIS. I earnestly hope to continue my participation in such meaningful events in future.
