  • Last Saturday, The Young Allies Programme officially launched with the support of Capital Group and CLP, marking the beginning of an inspiring journey for male university students and their mentors from Male Allies Hong Kong. During an engaging workshop facilitated by our training partner Dramatic Difference, participants explored the concept of the "Man Box" - the societal expectations placed on men and their impact. This thought-provoking session set the tone for the programme’s ultimate goal: empowering young men to champion gender equality. Over the coming months, participants will take part in workshops, monthly mentoring sessions, and job shadowing opportunities. These experiences are designed to cultivate a dynamic group of young men equipped to challenge stereotypes, inspire allyship, and create positive societal change. Heartfelt thank you to our incredible mentors for their dedication and to Dramatic Difference for delivering such a meaningful and impactful session! #TWFHK #MaleAllies #GenderEqualityforMen

  • One in three women worldwide will experience violence in their lifetime. This is not just a statistic—it is a call to action. On International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we join together to say enough. Violence against women and girls is preventable, but achieving change requires all of us to take action. At TWF, we are committed to advocating for stronger protections and educating communities to challenge harmful norms. We urge you to join us in raising awareness, standing in solidarity with survivors, and supporting efforts to end gender-based violence. Together, we can create a future where every woman and girl feels safe, supported, and free. #TWFHK #AdvocacyForChange #EndGenderBasedViolence #OrangeTheWorld

  • Thank you for celebrating with us at the TWF Gala Dinner 2024 last week! We were touched by the enthusiastic support from over 500 guests, friends, allies and partners coming together to mark our 20th Anniversary of empowering women and girls in Hong Kong. A heartfelt thank you to our Title Sponsor, Bloomberg, our Executive Sponsor Citi, and our Associate Sponsor Jardine Matheson, for their tremendous dedication to our joint vision to create a gender equal future. This Gala would not have been possible without their generous support. The Gala featured two insightful panel discussions that explored crucial aspects of inclusion and empowerment. The first led by Bloomberg’s Jessica Namad, on how young entrepreneurs are using their talents and platforms to challenge traditional narratives and create a more equitable future. Many thanks to our fantastic panellists - Artist Riya Chandiramani, Kesley Lam at Silver lining Developer and Anita Lee at 糕點時光 TIME TO GOLD. Citi’s Erika Irish Brown (she/her), led our second panel exploring the interconnected developments across business, art and design and how these impact and intersect with inclusion and equality. Our experts in this discussion were Professor Derek Collins at The University of Hong Kong, Joanna Hotung at Hotung Mills Education Foundation and Dr Evelyn Kwok, Interdisciplinary researcher. Together, we can break barriers and build a gender equal future! We would also like to express our appreciation to our wonderful emcee, Karen Koh, and pledge co-leads, Peyami Kalyoncu, Jen Flowers 杜敏 and Richard Lord. • As we near the close of The Women’s Foundation Gala Dinner 2024, we reflect on the power of collective action and the incredible stories we've heard tonight. From the inspiring leaders, allies, and young women advocating for gender equality, to the supportive community gathered here, we are reminded of the critical role each of us plays in driving meaningful change.   Our audience pledge was led by Jen Flowers 杜敏, TWF Fundraising Committee Member, Peyami Kalyoncu, Fundraising Host and Co-Founder of The Fundraising Agency, and Richard Lord, TWF Male Ally and Global Co-Chair of HSBC Male Allies. Each of them encouraged us to consider how our support for TWF’s programmes can impact the lives of women and girls across Hong Kong. Their words reminded us that every contribution—whether big or small—helps sustain the work we do to break barriers and build equality.   Thank you to all who have joined us in this mission. Together, we are paving the way for future generations, ensuring that every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive.   Let’s continue this journey of empowerment, solidarity, and change.   #TWFHK #GalaDinner2024 #BreakingBarriers #BuildingEquality

  • One of the most inspiring moments of the evening was our Programme Spotlight, where we heard powerful stories of impact from individuals who have been part of The Women’s Foundation’s programmes. Tiffany Pang, Marketing Manager, Hong Kong and Taiwan at Monotype and Deputy Chair of the TWF Mentoring Programme Advisory Council, spoke about the power of mentorship in shaping careers and building supportive networks for women leaders. We also heard from Osbert Leung, a passionate young ally, who shared how the Young Allies programme opened his eyes to the concepts of privilege and inclusive leadership, inspiring him to advocate for gender equality in his everyday life.   Raymond Leung, General Manager, Strategy Development & Greater Bay Area at HAECO and TWF Male Allies Leadership Council Member, shared his transformative experience as a Male Ally. He reflected on the importance fostering inclusive environments that benefit everyone.   Meanwhile, Rachel and Katie, two Form 2 students from Holy Trinity College, gave us a glimpse into their journey with the Girls Go Tech initiative. They expressed their desire to continue pursuing STEM and AI to make a positive impact in society.   These stories are powerful reminders of why we do what we do — to empower the next generation of leaders, to advance women’s participation in STEM, and to foster a community of allyship that drives meaningful change. Together, we are building a brighter and more inclusive future for all.   #TWFHK #GalaDinner2024 #BreakingBarriers #BuildingEquality
