Yesterday, I had the privilege of moderating a fantastic panel at the first HealthTech Adria Conference. Here are some interesting insights 🚀 💡 Admir highlighted a unique advantage in the ex-Yugoslavia region: the opportunity to test products across markets with differing regulations. For example, Croatia, as part of the EU, adheres to EU standards, while Bosnia and Serbia do not. This diversity creates a perfect testing ground for refining and scaling products. He also emphasized the need for agencies to shift their mindset—be more progressive, take risks, and invest in building products rather than waiting for clients to bring ideas. 💡 Martin pointed out a common challenge for agencies: the lack of domain expertise, especially in healthcare. He stressed the importance of forming strong partnerships between industry experts and tech companies to bridge this gap and drive innovation. He shared a lot of good examples from USA where they already implemented bunch of AI solutions for the clients. We all agreed that we’re living in one of the most exciting and challenging eras. 🌍 AI is reshaping everything, with the most profound impacts likely to be in health and education. To thrive, we must focus on building domain knowledge and leveraging technology to improve lives. Lastly, we discussed a crucial barrier: access to funding. Compared to the USA, our region still lags significantly, especially when it comes to resources for Proof of Concept (PoC) and R&D. If we want to see more startups flourish, addressing this funding gap is key. Good job Marko and team for setting up #HTAdria event. 🚀
