HBO officially ordered a pilot for The Chair Company, a comedy series starring comedian Tim Robinson.
The half-hour pilot is being led by Robinson himself and his writing partner Zach Kanin, while Succession’s Adam McKay and Jury Duty’s Todd Schulman will co-executive produce alongside the pair. The Chair Company follows Robinson’s character who ends up “investigating a far-reaching conspiracy” following “an embarrassing incident at work.”
Deadline adds that HBO is putting additional efforts into developing comedy titles after Bill Hader’s Barry and Larry David’s long-running Curb Your Enthusiasm officially came to an end.
Robinson currently stars in Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, a sketch comedy series which he co-created and co-writes alongside Kanin. The show gave Robinson two Creative Arts Emmys in 2023.
