The film showcased the creation of a custom 997 Porsche 911 by the renowned Akira Nakai, marking it the first 997 RWB build in Canada. eBay helped produce the film with the desire to celebrate car culture and the passionate enthusiasts that make up the car community in Canada.
The Build captures the awe-inspiring process of Nakai constructing his first 997 RWB outside Japan, with unprecedented access provided by Mark and Driven Show at the Nuo Auto shop. The documentary showcases Nakai’s meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail, culminating in the electrifying unveiling of the 997 RWB at the Regina Driven Show. This pivotal moment, marking the end of the 2023 tour, features crowds erupting in excitement as they witness automotive history.
This exclusive event, which took place on Friday, May 31, drew private members, industry leaders, car enthusiasts, and devoted Nakai/RWB fans. The evening began with an engaging panel discussion delving into the making of the documentary. Filmmakers shared the challenges and surprises they encountered, along with their experiences working with the legendary Nakai and his team. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause following the full screening of the documentary.
