AMIRI SS25 Combines Western Tropes With '70s Jazz Flair
Featuring oversized blazers with big lapels, wide collars and flared pants.
Mike Amiri disrupts Paris Fashion Week with a hybrid fashion and music event that brought stars like Maluma, French Montana, Kyle Kuzma and more. With live performances from The Yussef Dayes Experience as the backtrack for AMIRI‘s Spring/Summer 2025 show, the creative director brings Hollywood icons to the runway through wardrobe.
Inspired by some of his favorite Hollywood characters, merging stagecraft with handcraft, AMIRI fuses together modern male iconographies with contemporary styling. Heavily inspired by the retro ’70s jazz era, in both music and fashion, the runway show transports showgoers to a different time period. The attire was inspired by mid-century Jazz and Big Band idols, sharing a versatile idea of going from the stage to the streets with ease. Casual staples see the dapper man wear a contemporary, oversized suit featuring dramatized lapels and flared pants, paired with a crossover or continental tie. Bedazzled blazers give these modern tuxedos an extra sense of suave and formality, while textures and satin chore jackets accentuate the boxy silhouette.
A nod to the jazz band, AMIRI reveals accessories such as a base drum bag, treble clef pins and many more musical motifs. One of the t-shirts read, “Jazz Hideaway” on the front, a t-shirt Mike wore to take his final bow, another nod to the musical genre and the drama that comes with it. Wallet chains are added to casual denim trousers as well as suit pants, showing the versatility of the piece and the ability to dress up or down for any occassion.
