  • How much single-use plastic does an F&B online delivery generate daily? Each delivery adds to the growing pile of single-use packaging #waste. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, #Indonesia generated 11.6 million tons of plastic waste in 2021, with significant contributions from food deliveries. During the pandemic, Indonesian Institute of Sciences noted a 96% increase in plastic waste from online shopping. To address this, Kezia Lorensia, Co-founder of Monkeybar, partnered with Alner to adopt reusable packaging for their sandwiches, replacing single-use alternatives. Here’s how it works: 1. Alner delivers clean reusable packaging to partners for group orders. 2. Partners pack the orders, and Alner uses electric motorbikes for delivery. 3. Customers return the used packaging, which Alner collects, cleans, and reuses. For example, Ecoxyztem and DietPlastik, two of our loyal customers, have collectively ordered hundreds of meals with reusable packaging from Alner’s service over the past year. This effort has significantly reduced the use of single-use plastic packaging. Additionally, the use of electric motorbike delivery has further contributed to lowering the carbon footprint. Alner Food focuses on group orders for meetings or corporate events, enabling businesses to operate more sustainably. Interested in making a similar change? DM us to start the conversation. • Climate change is no longer just an environmental issue—it’s a business challenge that affects operations, resilience, and long-term success across industries. At SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) Talk PT Trakindo Utama: Simple Steps to Love the Earth, Alner ’s CEO, Bintang Ekananda, highlighted how individuals and companies can take practical actions to address climate change. Over 120 employees from PT Trakindo Utama participated in this meaningful discussion. Key takeaways from the session: Waste and Climate Change: Landfills emit greenhouse gases like CO2 and methane, exacerbating the climate crisis. Recycling Is Not Enough: It’s time to shift our focus from recycling to reducing waste at its source. Small Actions, Big Impact: Simple initiatives, such as reducing single-use packaging, can drive real change when scaled. How Alner Supports This Movement: We empower businesses to reduce plastic pollution and carbon emissions through reusable packaging solutions: 1️⃣ Reusable Cleaning Products: Many of our partners have adopted these for their operations. 2️⃣ Collective Purchasing: Companies can support employees by facilitating reusable packaging for daily essentials. 3️⃣ Bulk Refill Stations: We help set up refill solutions at offices to make sustainable choices more accessible. We believe collaboration is key. By working together, businesses, employees, and partners can build a more sustainable future. Alner is ready to partner with organizations that share this vision. 🌍 Let’s create meaningful change together. Reach out to explore how we can collaborate. • Sustainability Through Collaboration 🌱 In August, Alner hosted Se-Reuse, an event that marked the beginning of an exciting partnership with Eathink. We showcased Vita’s juices, powered by Eathink, packaged in returnable glass bottles. Customers could return the empty bottles to Alner for cleaning and reuse—a small but impactful step towards promoting a circular economy. This collaboration didn’t just end there. Inspired by the reuse concept, Eathink invited Alner to Food Talks 2024 in November to replicate this initiative on a larger scale. The result? A stronger shared commitment to sustainability and a broader awareness of reusable packaging solutions. 💬 Curious about how this collaboration made an impact? Read Eathink’s testimony by Edeline from the Marketing team below! 📢 To brands and retailers: If you’re ready to explore sustainable packaging solutions and align your business with environmentally-conscious values, let’s collaborate. • Alner 's CEO, Bintang Ekananda, and Ukke Kosasih —the inspiring founder of Circa Handmade, had the honor of being guest lecturers at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. Circa is a social enterprise that transforms textile waste into valuable products while empowering local communities. They shared insights on how social projects can create meaningful community impact and evolve into sustainable social enterprises. Their discussion highlighted the importance of combining innovation and collaboration to deliver long-term benefits for the communities they serve. A key takeaway was the vast potential young people have to start social projects from scratch. With the right guidance, these projects can grow into impactful social enterprises that drive positive change on a larger scale. Alner is a great example of this, supporting brands like Ramuraga, Monkey Bar, and NoThanksDrink to adopt reusable packaging. This helps them save up to 50% on packaging costs, reach new markets, and reduce single-use waste. Inspired to make a difference? 🚀 Alner is always open to collaboration with those who share our vision of creating social impact. Together, we can drive meaningful change and empower more communities. • We are honoured to have our CEO, Bintang Ekananda, represent Alner in a high-level closed discussion hosted by CNN Indonesia's The Big Idea Forum with Desi Anwar as moderator, where industry leaders gathered to explore how #ESG principles are shaping a more sustainable Indonesia. Alongside insightful voices like Niko Safavi, CEO of PT. Mowilex, Lany Harijanti from GRI, Sujala Pant from Deputy Resident Representative in Indonesia UNDP, and Government representative of Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises, the forum tackled critical ESG challenges and opportunities. Some key takeaways: 📌 Indonesia’s commitment to harmonize Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through a dedicated taxonomy — a promising step, though strong enforcement will be crucial. 📌 Impact-driven investment remains resilient, with investors now seeking clearer paths to profitability for sustainable ventures. 📌 Leveling the playing field is essential so more companies don’t just meet SDG standards but genuinely integrate them into their operations. 📌 Real-world inspiration: PT. Mowilex, a private company, shared its initiatives, from renewable energy investments in production to using sustainable materials for its paints. At Alner , we’re proud to be part of this movement toward sustainable growth. Alner is committed to advancing sustainable practices and joining industry leaders in creating meaningful impact. Let’s keep the conversation going—what are your thoughts on how companies can go beyond compliance and fully integrate #ESG principles into their business? #Alner #ESG #Sustainability #CNNIndonesia #TheBigIdeaForum #BetterReuse #SDGs #ImpactInvestment
