Tentang kami
The journey of CISDI started in 2010 during the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) era, where the world agreed to strive toward achieving eight development goals: eradicating extreme poverty and hunger; achieving universal primary education; promoting gender equality and empowering women; reducing child mortality; improving maternal health; combatting HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases; ensuring environmental sustainability, and establishing global partnerships for development. Spearheaded by current Minister of Health Nila Moeloek, the Office of President’s Special Envoy (OSE) for MDG were mandated to not only facilitate coordination of MDG attainment efforts of related ministries and local governments, but also act as a driving catalyst among various stakeholders in Indonesia. Upon the mandate, a small but highly efficient organisation of professionals with a diverse range of backgrounds in public health, human-centred development, medical science, economics, behavioural science, and public policy was established. Today, the office transforms into CISDI who continues on into the SDGs framework where it has ventured into previously under-explored areas within the health and well-being sector; supported with an advisory board consisting of experts with stellar reputations from government agencies, academic institutions, and health-profession organizations. Affiliated with the Indonesian CSO Coalition on SDGs, CISDI has a dense network to further cultivate multi-sector partnerships. Its high quality outcomes in projects including strategic planning for public-health related policy advocacy, public campaigns on development issues, and initiating and managing the Pencerah Nusantara program which won Silver Award of the Global Open Government Awards 2015 for improving public service through good governance practices. We strive to provide a critical bridge between community needs and public service delivery utilization under the umbrella of ensuring quality.

In September 2024, CISDI, represented by Sayyid Muhammad Jundullah (Advocacy Officer) and Ghina F. (Project Officer for TRACK SDGs), attended the Sustainable Development for Thriving Communities conference organized by Monash University Indonesia at their BSD campus. Over the course of two days, a wide range of topics were discussed by the speakers, from the political dynamics affecting development to the challenges faced in the areas of education and climate change. Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) issues were also a key focus, with research findings highlighting the importance of women's and vulnerable groups' participation, as well as the need for inclusive governance to drive development at both national and local levels. This conference provided valuable insights for CISDI, which is committed to mainstreaming GEDSI principles. A big thank you to Monash University Indonesia for the invitation! The discussions throughout the conference reminded us all that meaningful multi-stakeholder participation is key to achieving sustainable development goals. #Throwback

✨ #YouthforHealth and Community Impact at WJYF 2024! ✨ On September 29, CISDI team members Safira Anis (Community Engagement Officer) and Abby Faraz Airlangga (Partnership Development Officer) had the honor of participating in a Master Class session at the West Java Youth Forum (WJYF) 2024, hosted by the Secretariat of the Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat. This session focused on health issues and was a fantastic opportunity for CISDI to share insights alongside the West Java Provincial Health Office with 20 youth leaders eager to make a difference in public health. We emphasized the critical role of strengthening primary healthcare services, like Puskesmas, and the need for proactive, preventive health measures to uplift community health outcomes across West Java. 🌍 WJYF 2024 convened 100 passionate participants from 27 districts and cities, providing a platform to explore and accelerate impactful programs in health, education, environmental sustainability, literacy, and economic empowerment. It was inspiring to witness young leaders voice their aspirations and commitment to positive change. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared your vision for the future! We look forward to seeing these initiatives bring meaningful impact to communities throughout West Java. 🚀 #CISDI #WJYF2024 #YouthEmpowerment #PublicHealth #PrimaryHealthcare #WestJava #CommunityDevelopment
