𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐰: 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐔𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐮𝐬𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐚’𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧  From October 23 to November 3, 755 earthquakes of varying magnitudes struck Gunung Ile Lewotobi Laki-laki, East Nusa Tenggara due its volcanic erruption, displacing 11,445 people who are in dire need of food, clean water, healthcare, psychosocial support, and other essential services.  As part of our commitment to protecting children and families, Save the Children Indonesia is launching an emergency response from November 2024 to March 2025. Every child deserves a healthy start, and basic immunization is crucial to achieving this. This Child Health Week, from November 12-19, Save the Children Indonesia is highlighting the role of vaccines in protecting children under 5, especially in vulnerable areas.   ✨ This year, we focus on the impact of immunization and climate change on child survival. Pneumococcal infections are a leading cause of death in children under 5 in crisis settings, but vaccines are safe, effective, and essential for community protection.   Since 2021, supported by Charles Monat Associates, we’ve been implementing the Fighting Against Childhood Pneumonia (FACP) program in Central Lombok, NTB—one of the top provinces for child pneumonia cases. This program enhances healthcare access, strengthens community health centers, and promotes clean living practices to protect children. We're proud to collaborate with Mars, Save the Children Indonesia, and PISAgro on this transformative journey, supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It was a pleasure to share our insights from the program at the 31st INA Lunchbreak last Friday.
