Apple's $1 Billion Investment in AirTag Manufacturing in Batam Apple executives recently met with Indonesia's Industry Minister to discuss a $1 billion investment to meet local content regulations. Apple has established an AirTag manufacturing facility in Batam as part of this commitment. This move creates 2,000 jobs and helps fulfill 65% of the demand for AirTags. It was confirmed by Roslan Roeslani, Minister of Investment, after a meeting with Apple's Vice President of Global Policy, Nick Amman, on January 7, 2025.
