  • Afternoon tea has been a much-loved part of The Langham experience for 160 years. To maintain this proud tradition, our Food & Beverage team recently held an afternoon tea academy at The Langham, Shenzhen during which pastry chefs from Langham Hospitality Group hotels had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of this refined culinary art. During this two-day event, our pastry chefs created 11 different afternoon tea items, for which they tested a range of new recipes and techniques, and made use of a variety of natural and local products. In addition to crafting delicious new delicacies, our chefs also learned about enhancing product quality and hygiene management, as well as understanding the importance of sweet sustainability. Other topics explored during the academy included developing skills in pastry photography and lifestyle shooting, recognising the importance of F&B marketing, and promoting brand differentiation through desserts. The event also served as an opportunity to facilitate communication between chefs from different cities. Check out our video below to find out more! #LHGLife #LanghamCuisine

  • We are excited to announce our latest Langham Luminaries: Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia! The co-creative directors of Oscar de la Renta and MONSE are not only one of New York’s most iconic duos, but also inseparable friends who know the city inside out.   Since meeting 15 years ago, the pair have formed a one-of-a-kind partnership, co-founding luxury label MONSE in 2015 and indulging in their shared love of all things creative, from music and film to cooking and event planning. And The Langham, Fifth Avenue, New York, has become a central part of their everyday lives, whether for after-work cocktails, indulging in a staycation, or hosting a dinner party. “The Langham is very close to our office. It’s like our little living room outside of our home and work,” says Kim.   The duo join champion fencer Edgar Cheung Ka Long and world champion swimmer Steve Wang Shun on our Langham Luminaries list, which pays tribute to The Langham’s heritage as a meeting place for the world’s most famous and influential figures over the past 160 years.   To learn more about Laura and Fernando, check out our video, which was filmed at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue, where they were preparing to throw an intimate dinner party.   #TheLangham #LanghamHotels #LanghamLuminary #YourStoryOurLegacy

  • John Washington, Director of Security at The Langham, Chicago, has worked with the hotel since its opening in 2013. Although he began his career in event planning and operations, John felt drawn to working in security, feeling immense pride in keeping the people around him safe. From his first day at The Langham, Chicago, John knew there was something special about the hotel. “Langham is very colleague-minded when it comes to ensuring our needs and feelings are heard and recognised, and I truly believe that is one of the key ingredients to the brand’s secret sauce,” he says. “We are able to make our guests happy because we are taken care of.” One of the most memorable moments of John’s career came when a former President and First Lady stayed at The Langham, Chicago. The former President shook John’s hand and thanked him for keeping him safe. It is a memory that he treasures, and one that continues to inspire him to be better every day. #LHGLife #BetterEveryday #OneTeamOneDream

  • Sean Seah, Langham Hospitality Group’s (LHG) Senior Vice President – Strategy, Technology and Innovation, is on a mission to turn LHG into the most innovative brand in the world. In a recent in-depth interview with Interface Magazine, Sean reflected on the challenges of blending strategic expansion with innovation to create the “next generation of experiences”, why digital transformation is much more reliant on people than technology, and why “You have to fall in love with the problem and then pick the right solution, not the other way around.” Read the full interview here.

  • We are thrilled to introduce our second Langham Luminary: Hong Kong’s champion fencer Edgar Cheung Ka-long! One of the greatest Asian athletes of his generation, Edgar became Asian fencing champion at just 18 years old before going on to establish himself as one of the world’s top fencers by winning Asian Games, FISU World University Games and a gold medal in Tokyo Olympics. Three years later, he made history by retaining his title in Paris, and he continues to compete at the highest level, enhancing Hong Kong’s sporting reputation on the international stage.   Edgar joins world champion swimmer Steve Wang Shun on our Langham Luminary list, which pays tribute to The Langham’s heritage as a meeting place for the world’s most famous and influential figures over the past 160 years.   To learn more about Edgar, and what he loves most about Hong Kong, check out our video: #TheLangham #LanghamHotels #LanghamLuminary #YourStoryOurLegacy
