The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland is the representative body for US companies based in Ireland at both Government and industry level, and within the Irish and international media. Corporate membership of the American Chamber supports the representation of the business agenda of 700 US companies located in Ireland. Our mission is to be the voice of US companies and position Ireland as the global location of choice for US investment. The American Chamber keeps Irish decision makers focused on the factors contributing to the continued attractiveness of Ireland as a location for foreign direct investment. The American Chamber is the largest multinational business association within Ireland. Membership of the American Chamber includes US companies operating from Ireland, their strategic partners and organisations with strong bilateral trade linkages between Ireland and the United States

In AmCham's latest FDI survey of those in senior leadership positions, 94 percent said they offer remote work to their non-manufacturing employees. Two days per week was the most popular option chosen, at 39 percent, when those surveyed were asked the average number of days their employees could work remotely. 54 percent said they had not increased the number of days that their employees worked in the office. Collaboration was ranked as the number one reason, at 48 percent, why organisations altered the number of days that employees must work in the office. Delighted to see United Airlines will double the number of flights between Dublin and Washington DC for much of next year as part of a significant expansion of its direct Irish-US service. AmCham is delighted to see Fenagh Engineering and Testing is to establish its first European base in Dublin with a €3 million investment over three years. The Dublin expansion will create 35 jobs, and will serve as a launch pad for Fenagh’s broader European expansion plans, which include the UK, the company said. In AmCham's latest FDI survey we asked senior leaders in FDI in Ireland about talent and skills. When asked if they had experienced any difficulty in filling vacancies in their operations in Ireland, 69 percent responded that they had while 31 percent said they had not. A shortage of specialist skills was ranked as the top barrier organisations are facing in filling vacancies in Ireland at 46 percent. Housing was ranked number two at 20 percent, the general availability of talent was third at 18 percent and 13 percent said remuneration/employee benefits. In AmCham's latest FDI quarterly survey 100 percent of respondents said the enhancement of Ireland's public transport infrastructure was important to supporting their business operations in Ireland. When asked what the priority for Government should be in relation to enhancing Ireland's transport infrastructure 37 percent said road infrastructure, 30 percent said regional public transport, 24 percent said capacity at Ireland's airports and ports and 9 percent said national public transport. 31 percent said Ireland's current public transport offering does allow for their employees to get public transport to their operations in Ireland. 33 percent said they could get public transport to some locations while 35 percent said they could not get public transport to any location. We asked senior leaders in FDI in Ireland about Ireland’s Competitive edge. When asked for their organisation's top reason for their confidence in the Irish economy 35 percent said Ireland's stable, pro-enterprise ecosystem. 31 percent said the access to a highly educated and skilled talent pool in Ireland. 96 percent said high income earners were important to building teams and supporting further job creation within MNC's in Ireland. AmCham has published it's Quarterly FDI Insights Survey for November 2024. We surveyed those in senior leadership positions in FDI in Ireland about Ireland’s Investment Opportunities and Challenges.
