About Applegreen: Applegreen is proud to be an Irish company and a true Irish success story. From humble beginnings in 1992, Applegreen started with the opening of our first service station in Ballyfermot, West Dublin. From there, under the stewardship of Chairman Bob Etchingham and CEO Joe Barrett, Applegreen expanded in Ireland, growing year on year. As of April 2022, the business operates 620 forecourt sites and employs circa 15,000 people across Ireland, UK and America. Chick-fil-A is now open at Applegreen Lisburn South. The new restaurant is located at our Lisburn South motorway service area on the M1, close to Belfast. Our new partnership with Chick-fil-A in Northern Ireland also includes a second restaurant at Templepatrick on the M2 opening in March. Chick-fil-A, which is known for its famous chicken sandwich, has more than 3,000 restaurants in the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Having successfully operated Chick-fil-A restaurants in the United States for several years, we know how much our customers love their high-quality food, and we’re excited to introduce this brand to a new audience. The partnership with Chick-fil-A Restaurants is bringing 70 new jobs, increasing our overall employment number in Northern Ireland to more than 350. A big thank you to our amazing colleagues who worked tirelessly to bring this fantastic new brand to our customers in Northern Ireland. 💫 More celebrations as our Applegreen Ballymount store was named National Convenience Store of the Year at ShelfLife Magazine C-Store Awards 2024. According to the judges, “This excellent large forecourt and convenience store offers the best in Irish retailing with excellent well trained friendly staff.” 🎉 We were also delighted to pick up two more awards on the night with Applegreen Enfield West picking up the Staff Development of the Year award and Applegreen Booterstown winning the Forecourt Retailer of the Year Silver Award.
