Last week, I had the privilege of speaking to a 6th-year business class about my journey with Rocksalt—from starting out in hospitality to growing the business into a team of 90 amazing individuals. It was inspiring to see the curiosity and enthusiasm from the students as we talked about entrepreneurship, leadership, and the challenges of building a business from the ground up. Sharing my story reminded me of how far we’ve come and the importance of encouraging the next generation to dream big and believe in their ideas. A huge thank you to the De La Salle College Dundalk for inviting me, and to the students for their thoughtful questions—it was a real pleasure! To fellow business owners: if you ever get the chance to share your story with young minds, take it. You might just inspire the entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow. #Entrepreneurship #BusinessTalk #Inspiration #HospitalityIndustry

Rocksalt Business Update - the 3 sexiest words in the English langauge 😉 Twice a Year I get the whole team in RockSalt together and present our plans for the next 6-12months and look back on all the amazing things our teams have achieved!! Last night the teams from across Blackrock, Dundalk & Carrick got together to talk about the year so far and what is still to come. Make no mistake. Hospitality is harder than ever right now, but this team works even harder. This year alone we’ve managed to continue to grow our business adding a new cafe a thriving sports catering business along with launching our RockSalt fit meals into SuperValu & local shops. Here is Some of the things we have to look forward to in the remainder of 2024: 🎉 Blackrock’s 6th Birthday! 🥤The Christmas Cup Design Competition! 🚚 A successor to Rocky, our new food truck coming soon. 🏭 A new purpose-built location for the catering team Thank you to all of our customers for your support, and to our amazing team for making Rocksalt what it is today! #oneteam #rocksalt #rocksaltcatering #rocksaltcafe #dundalk #carrickmacross #blackrock #hospitality #irishbusiness #startup #vat9% Restaurants Association of Ireland Tracy Hegarty

Talk about the coffee journey, it’s amazing where it can take you!! From sitting around my mams kitchen table having a cup of Tea looking at a picture of our RockSalt cafe in Blackrock which was painted for her by a friend. Thinking that would be really cool on a range of retail coffee for RockSalt. To then making it happen over the next year or so, was amazing. Following an origin trip to Kenya in January meeting the farmers of our delicious coffee to brining it back and creating amazing new art work packaging. Last week was the start of something new, our new coffee concept of retail range began its very first run of production. We visited Masterroast who has been helping us since day one creating our delicious blend of coffees in RockSalt. It was great to cup some new coffees with the genus behind it all Matthew Mills and his team and catch up on all things coffee, before touring the factory to see our latest creation come to live. It was a very proud moment as we continue to pursue the best for RockSalt. ………………………………………………………… #coffee #masterroast #rocksaltcafe #business

What an amazing trip to the origin of our RockSalt coffee in Kenya 🇰🇪 I’ve just returned for an experience of a lifetime, learning the supply chain and going to the source of our fantastic coffee. It was a truly inspiring trip to see the journey our coffee takes before it gets to us and the passionate people who make sure the highest quality is delivered to us. I meet our whole supply chain from the farmers, to the cooperatives, to the buyers of the green beans to the exporters and onto the roasters before it gets to our Baristas. I spent time with independent farmers, speaking to them about the challenges of life and the joys that coffee brings, to the pickers, I spent half a day helping the workers fill sacks from the harvest which was hard work. Then spent time with the coffee buyers and exported understanding the coffee markets and how the stock exchange plays a huge part in coffee prices, along with the intricacies of getting the coffee from the farms across the world to Ireland and the complexity that that brings. It’s was such a great learning and understanding for me that will never leave me. I know now how we can help and support in areas moving forward in the coffee cycle too. The passion is alive…. Coffee coffee coffee Huge thank you to Coffee Perfection & Matthew Mills for organising the trip and Dormans Coffee for an amazing welcome in Kenya 🇰🇪 ………………………………………………………. #kenyacoffee #dormans #coffee #rocksaltcafe #africatravel #buisnessgrowth
