Creative Futures Academy, the Institute of Directors Ireland and the IoD Northern Ireland were delighted to launch the Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate Exhibition last night at the NCAD Gallery on Thomas Street, Dublin 8. Oonagh Buckley, Secretary General, Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications officially opened the exhibition. Funded by Creative Ireland's Climate Action Programme and the Shared Island initiative, Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate is an urgent call to action in the face of one of the most pressing challenges of our time: #climatechange. In an era defined by unprecedented environmental challenges, this exhibition serves as a platform for exploring how collective action can drive meaningful change. The programme aimed to impact participants' behaviors and attitudes using an iterative process known as Design Thinking. Students from National College of Art & Design and Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology together with Chartered Directors used empathy-driven exercises to share diverse perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of complex climate-related issues and the underlying challenges that prevent behavioral change. The exhibition will run from 22nd November to 6th December and is open to the general public from 11am to 6pm daily, Monday to Friday. The Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate exhibition launch takes place tomorrow, 21st November, at the National College of Art & Design (NCAD). More details below. The Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate was a collaborative initiative between Institute of Directors Ireland, IoD Northern Ireland, and Creative Futures Academy, funded through Creative Ireland's Climate Action & Shared Island fund. The exhibition will share the journey taken by NCAD and IADT students and Chartered Directors during a series of design-led workshops which took place earlier this year. There was a great buzz at the 24 Hour Design challenge Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology at the weekend! ! This initiative run by IADT Media Cube in conjunction with Creative Futures Academy has gathered students from National College of Art & Design, University College Dublin who have worked together to find creative solutions to a number of challenges. The 24-Hour design challenge is sponsored by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland as part of Design week under the theme ‘Imagination for Opportunity’ The winners of the Big Pitch for the 24 Hour Design Challenge for 2024 were: Noor Ayad National College of Art & Design, Iniya Baskaran National College of Art & Design, Shadow Kelly, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology and Shreyansh Sharma National College of Art & Design for their solution ‘Inclusive Minds’ Huge thanks to our mentors: Michael ODea, Enterprise Ireland, Jennifer Thornton, Vlada Shevchenko, Elaine Kelly and Fola O Grady Our judges had a hard task choosing a winner - thanks and well done: Aoife Harrington Local Enterprise Offices, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Davin Mac Ananey, Hamilton Rock, Tom Pollock Learnovate Centre, Trinity College Dublin. Thanks also to Caitlin Hafer and Monish Kadam @ What The Hack for bringing the teams together!
