📆 As we approach another election cycle in Ireland, the conversation around healthcare reform and most notably digital health is set to take centre stage once more. The need for digital transformation is set to become a key agenda item. A recent article from the Irish Independent has sparked new discussions by highlighting both the potential and the challenges associated with a digital health implementation by the HSE. 📲 At Cushla, we support our members in bringing together all their records. This includes records from public settings as well as private settings. All health information, regardless of where it sits now, needs to be made available to the person that it relates to, when they want it. And the individual should choose how they access their information too. And Cushla is a platform that can be selected. Cushla is hopeful that any potential new health minister will support this holistic approach to digitising healthcare in Ireland with a comprehensive, inclusive, and ultimately patient-centred approach that enforces the rights of the individual to get their information now. #cushla #medtech #election24

Cushla welcomes and supports this development in the UK where the NHS are expanding their app to give patients full access to medical records. In Ireland, Cushla is providing this service allowing you to safely store and access not only your medical records but all your health related records. This includes various practitioners like optometrists, dentists, and physiotherapists. Cushla, empowering you with your health information when and where you need it. #Cushla #healthtech #digitalhealth
Earlier this year, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change advocated for: 📋A Digital Health Record for every citizen 🤝Shared data controllership with GPs 📱Expanded functionality in the NHS App and 🏥Gainshare agreements with GPs that would see them rewarded for keeping people well and out of hospital. ✅ Today, the Secretary of State has announced the introduction of these measures, which will be delivered, in part, through provisions laid out the new data bill that will be introduced to parliament on Wednesday. 📄 There are many good reasons for introducing a Digital Health Record (DHR) - all of them set out in our paper, "Preparing the NHS for the AI Era: A Digital Health Record for Every Citizen" - but for me, one of the biggest, is its ability help reimagine the way we deliver Primary Care services. 🧵People are complex and varied and their health needs are too. Primary Care needs to do what retail did 20 years ago and start to segment and stratify their population, tailoring the Primary Care offer to different cohorts based on wants and needs. It no longer makes sense to offer everyone the same 10 minute appointment to talk about one problem only. A Digital Health Record can help do that. - For people with complex health and care needs, a DHR is required for truly integrated care. Integrated Neighbourhood Teams may or may not need to operate under one roof - they certainly need to operate on one record. - For people with Long Term Conditions, a DHR can enable patients to navigate digital pathways of care (with apps and remote monitoring devices), alongside their in-person interactions, supporting better management of their own health. - And for patients with more episodic care needs, a DHR can open up capacity in the community - from Community Diagnostic Centres to Community Pharmacies. A DHR will be critical to rolling out a more comprehensive Pharmacy First service for instance. ⭐️There are places in the UK that do this brilliantly already - but it is by no means yet the norm. We should build on these examples of best practice - in the UK and abroad - to help meet people where they are: online, at home and on the high street - as well as in clinic. Only then will we be able to deliver on the three shifts Wes is right to advocate for: treatment to prevention, hospital to community and analogue to digital.

🧡 We are delighted to see the significant uptake at the Construction Workers Health Trust (CWHT) health screening days! It's very positive to see so many workers taking proactive steps towards better health. 📲 In the 10 days since our partnership kicked off, we have seen over 150 workers get screened by the CWHT nursing team, and over half the participants now using the Cushla mobile app to access their health data and results, with the remainder expected to onboard soon. The overwhelming feedback has been that this is a great solution and a clear indicator of where health record management is headed. 🤝 We are grateful to CWHT for choosing to partner with Cushla to offer a digital electronic health record solution to their members. It's evident that accessibility plays a crucial role in health participation, and this initiative makes a significant difference. Together, we’re paving the way for a healthier, more accessible future! #Cushla #CWHT #HealthTech #EHR Dr. Alison Gilliland Richard Egan

🎉 Celebrating Success! 🎉 Cushla is proud to announce the successful launch of its first commercial partnership with the Construction Workers Health Trust (CWHT). This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the journey towards enhanced health management for construction workers across Ireland. 🚀 All construction workers screened by CWHT will benefit from access to their own electronic personal health record (EPHR) through Cushla’s innovative technology. The initiative represents a new era in health management, providing workers with a seamless, integrated approach to tracking and managing their health. The Cushla app, a user-friendly platform, will allow workers to connect effortlessly to various health wearables. This integration ensures that all health screening records are stored in one convenient location, accessible at any time, through their Cushla app. Additionally, workers can add results from any clinical setting, creating a comprehensive, lifetime health record. This achievement represents a significant milestone for us as we continue to grow and thrive commercially. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.
