We at Ergo are delighted to announce the official opening of our Belfast office, headed up by our General Manager for Northern Ireland, John Molloy. This investment is a testament to our commitment to expanding our global footprint while contributing to the region's thriving tech and business environment – over the next three years, Ergo will create 40 new jobs in Northern Ireland.  Ergo aims to leverage local talent, resources, and expertise to enhance our digital practice and managed services proposition. This expansion is supported by Invest NI, which has provided local knowledge and expertise relating to the Northern Irish market that has been invaluable to Ergo in establishing its first base in the region.   On the announcement, Ergo CEO Paul McCann said: “We are excited to take this next step with our expansion in Northern Ireland. Ergo sits at the intersection of business and technology and CIOs the world over trust us for our proven track record over the past thirty years. We were delighted to welcome our customers at the ‘Tackling social engineering in the age of AI’ event, hosted in collaboration with our esteemed partners, KnowBe4 and Egress! The attendees gained valuable insights into how cybercriminals exploit psychological biases and leverage advanced tools and techniques to create highly targeted phishing campaigns. The event provided an excellent opportunity to gain insight on enhancing phishing threat detection and security awareness programs. To sum it all up, John Colfer, Head of Cyber Defenses at Arachas, shared the company’s biggest concerns around cybersecurity and email protection, and how Ergo, Egress and KnowBe4 have been helping to address these challenges. "AI is the big focus at Microsoft Ignite 2024. Microsoft 365 Copilot is bringing new productivity tools and automating tasks like summarising meeting notes and answering HR queries. The new SharePoint AI agent enhances document retrieval, while the Interpreter in Microsoft Teams provides real-time language translations. Azure AI Foundry simplifies AI app development with Azure AI Studio, Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure AI Search. Security is a major theme, with AI predictive tools to prevent attacks and the Zero Day Quest rewards competition offering $4M in prizes. Another highlight is the unveiling of Windows 365 Link, a new thin client device for secure cloud-based virtual desktops. Lots more to come as the week progresses at Microsoft Ignite 2024."
