The Irish financial services sector has come a long way in the past 40 years. Today, it is a major employer and a key driver of the Irish economy. However, we cannot take this success for granted. ⬇️ Click on link below to read David Howard's article in The Irish Times where he discusses two key factors that are driving change in the financial services sector: technology and climate action. David also calls for the establishment of a national fintech hub to boost competitiveness and innovation. A national fintech hub would be a physical location that would serve as a natural first landing point for multinationals considering entry to the Irish market. It would also serve as a home and place of learning for early-stage fintech firms, as well as research and innovation teams from longer-established firms. The hub would be a tangible symbol of Ireland's commitment to excellence in financial services innovation. But it is just one piece of the puzzle. Investment in R&D will also play a huge part. The financial services sector is performing well in Ireland, but we must strive for more. We must always remain ambitious. #financial services #fintech #innovation #Ireland https://lnkd.in/ec8suJsj
