Back in 2012 or 2013 (I think) I attended my first NWED in Galway and I was blown away by the women who were speaking. One was Leonora O'Brien and another was Miriam Byrne. I listened in awe as these women told their stories, how they had succeeded, even when things were tough, and had come through and built two amazing companies. I was so inspired and one of the things that really stuck with me was that they both mentioned Going for Growth as a key factor in their stories. That was enough for me and I knew that if I wanted to swim in the same pond as those powerhouse women I needed to get on that program!
One, two skip a few, I applied and was accepted on Going for Growth and the next program Continuing the Momentum and when I started my next business I went back and did the Starting Strong program. All wonderful initiatives to support female entrepreneurs to thrive and scale their businesses under the watchful eye of Paula Fitzsimons.
I am now part of the largest, most powerful network of female entrepreneurs ( I would actually say it is the largest network of entrepreneurs male or female) in Ireland because of these programs. I have contact with and access to some of the most successful entrepreneurs Ireland has, and I can pick up the phone to Paula Fitzsimons for advice or she will point me in the direction of the advice.
I am honored to now be a lead entrepreneur with Going for Growth and work with the amazing and inspirational women who join this program.
Applications for the next cycle are now open BUT the closing date is the 15th so if you are thinking about it just do it, you will not regret it!
