This week we celebrated Euronext Dublin’s strong relationship with the legal and financial ecosystem in Ireland. A big “Thank You” goes to all our clients, partners and friends that joined our Euronext Debt and Funds Dinner 2024. Our annual Thanksgiving event gave us an opportunity to celebrate this year’s successes, reflect on the challenges/opportunities ahead and enjoy the company of our friends and colleagues. During the night we were honored with the presence of the President of High Court of Ireland, Mr Justice David Barniville, who delivered a wonderful keynote speech, touching on the important role of the Irish law and the stability of the Irish judicial system, which is supporting the attractivity of Ireland for domestic and international business. A heartfelt thanks goes to Mr Justice for his inspiring words and the capacity to deliver important messages with a light-hearted style. As always, we were fortunate to host the event alongside Ireland for Law, brilliantly coordinated by Dermot Ryan, Executive Director, Ireland For Law. We have had a great partnership with Ireland for Law over the last few years, working closely to promote Ireland as a jurisdiction for legal services. A partnership we are grateful for and one where we can continue to support one another. This year Euronext Dublin has shown a stellar performance in debt and funds primary market activity. Euronext is the world leader in both debt and funds listing, and Dublin contributes with 80% of the debt listing flow to this staggering success. I am also sincerely grateful to my colleagues who attended and help make this event so successful every year. At Euronext we are proud of this global leadership position and ready to consolidate and grow it even further in the future. We very much look forward to working with all our partners and stakeholders to make this ambition a reality! We are very grateful for the support of members of The Bar of Ireland, The Law Society, our panellists, and guests as we partnered with the EU Bar Association (EUBA) for their Annual Conference in Brussels yesterday. We would like to thank our panel, chaired by Bernadette Quigley SC (The Bar of Ireland) and featuring Dr Andreas von Bonin (Freshfields), José Maria Carpi Badia (Commission Legal Service), and Noel Travers SC (The Bar of Ireland). The panel discussed State Aid in the wake of the Commission v. Ireland and Others Case C-465/20P (the Apple judgement) and explored the implications of the Court's findings in the case. A special thanks goes to our keynote speaker Judge Eugene Regan (Court of Justice of the European Union), Kevin Conmy (Irish Ambassador to Belgium), and Brian Kennedy SC (Chair of the EUBA) for their introductory remarks. Judge Regan's keynote address traced the significant influence of cases initiated in Ireland on the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union. We were thrilled to be part of this engaging and insightful event and we look forward to continued collaboration and dialogue on the pivotal legal issues shaping the European landscape.

Ireland possesses a strong and highly-regarded infrastructure of lawyers, serving a domestic and international commercial client base. There is a large existing body of multinational companies based or headquartered in Ireland which is currently served by Irish lawyers. Irish solicitors’ firms and barristers have extensive experience and expertise in multi-jurisdictional matters, including disputes in other EU countries and the United States. These are just a few reasons Irish legal services could be suited to your sector. To learn more, visit www.irelandforlaw.com.
