As the calendar year nears a close, there was plenty of acknowledgement for the top performers of 2024 over the past few weeks. A special mention for Cian Healy who 15 years after making his international debut against them, was back to face the Wallabies on his record-breaking 134th cap for his country. Eimear shares the moments that shaped her, from thrilling victories to heartbreaking setbacks and the crucial role of sport and mental wellbeing in her life. These experiences have made her and other athletes powerful rolemodels to young people today, helping them express their emotions, build resilience and form lifelong habits that make a world of difference. Sport can do so much to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, change attitudes and behavior and build communities of support.
