Yesterday’s Marketing Society of Ireland event was a breath of fresh air. We got to listen to the inspiring stories of Troy Armour from Junk Kouture, and Conor Buckley from Human Collective. Both talked all about the brands they have created, overcoming adversity, and being inclusive. Not to mention seeing some of the amazing designs from young people in Ireland! Definitely an event to remember 👏🏻

We hosted a really fun and engaging Marketing Society of Ireland event yesterday called 'Sustainability and Experience: How Junk Kouture & Human Collective Captivate Audiences' and welcomed our guests Troy Armour the 2016 Junk Kouture winner Londiwe Ndlovu from Junk Kouture who shared the amazing story of Junk Kouture and how it impacts young people in Ireland and 5 other global markets. This was followed by a Q and A chat with the inspiring Conor Buckley from We Are Human Collective and brilliantly moderated by Brian McIntyre Some of the key take aways for me: 🧑🎨 All kids need something to be passionate about outside of school and it doesn't always have to be a team sport - think of Junk Kouture as a sport for creative kids! 🤖 Creativity is at the heart of the brand and we need to nurture creativity in our young people in this developing world of AI and technology. 😜 We heard many stories about early guerilla marketing tactics that Troy employed - big creative ambitions and a dash of brazenness works! 💪 Conor told us about many things that did work for Human Collective but also shared some of the things that didn't work. Embrace those things, it makes your brand stronger. 🧬 Both brands spoke passionately about their brand essence and DNA and how it is key to never lose sight of that as you grow. This was our final event of the year and what a great way to wrap up a brilliant calendar of events in 2024. Here's to 2025! Shout out to all who helped make this an event to remember dentsu Troy Armour Jane Smith Justin Cullen Katie Brill Conor Buckley Irene McEvoy Orlagh Geraghty Brian McIntyre Mark Noble

Last night Marketing Society of Ireland hosted a special event featuring Troy Armour CEO & Founder of Junk Kouture, Londiwe Ndlovu winner and future leader Junk Kouture, Conor Buckley CEO Human Collective and Brian McIntyre Orchard as well as the fabulous students Megan & Clodagh showcasing their fashion made from recycled materials. I am still smiling today from the authentic stories that were shared and the importance of how the world would be a better place if we all embraced and celebrated difference.
